Deluxe 4 Bedroom 3 Bath single level home on Princeville's "Makai 18"
James and Cyrila Pycha
About James and Cyrila Pycha
James (Jim) Pycha began his life on Kauai in 1971 as the head Night Auditor for the Hanalei Plantation Hotel (later Club Med). At a church service in Anahola, Jim met Cyrila Cole from Anahola, fell in love, got married and settled down in Kilauea where Cyrila was the nurse for Kilauea Sugar Plantation. Jim worked for the general contractors Morrison & Knudsen on the Princeville at Hanalei planned unit development project where he now resides in a beautiful home fronting the 11th fairway of the Makai Golf Course . In 1979, Jim embarked on his real estate sales and property management career and eventually opened his own brokerage in the Princeville Center. Following his purchase of the RE/MAX Kauai Island-wide franchise, he opened offices in Koloa (South side) and Kapa’a (East Side). RE/MAX Kauai’s main offices are located in the Princeville Center where vacation and long term property management operations are based and managed by his wife together with their son and daughter, Matt and Angela with a large “outboard” support staff. The Eastside branch of RE/MAX Kauai is located in the recently refurbished Kauai Village Center and is the central hub for property management and brokerage operations on Kauai’s East and South side. Jim enjoys golf and stand-up paddling plus weekend family and church gatherings. Jim’s military career consisted of 33 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve serving as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and commissioned officer at the Coast Guard Reserve search and rescue (SAR) station Sand Island (Honolulu) and Kauai’s Station Nawiliwili retiring as Lieutenant Commander. As noted by his numerous client endorsements, Jim excels in establishing sustained top level client-based trust resulting from his many years of real estate brokerage experience. Clients report gaining significant support and confidence as both Buyers and Sellers through Jim’s expert guidance and counseling.

Why James and Cyrila Pycha chose Princeville
Long before Captain James Cook landed on Kaua’i in 1778, Hawaiians farmed the lush lands of Hanalei with irrigated taro fields while harvesting the ocean's riches abound. Cattle ranching began only after 1830 when westerners slowly trickled into the island. A Scot by the name of Robert Crichton Wyllie acquired the land near Hanalei in 1853. Soon, he would name his sugar plantation Princeville, in honor of Prince Albert Edward Kauileaouli, son of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV. Sadly, the Prince died at the tender age of four in 1862. Princeville became a ranch decades later in 1895 when missionary son Albert S. Wilcox bought the plantation. Today, Princeville at Hanalei is a thriving, vibrant modern community, culturally diverse and committed to preserving the island's beauty and environment. It is as Robert Crichton Wyllie described hundred years before, "a setting of marvelous beauty and calm." It is the perfect place to enjoy the natural wonder of Kaua’i.

Such a great home! The pictures are exactly how it looks. Our family of 7 loved our time on Kauai!
Very Comfortable, safe and well appointed home
What a delight this home is! The beds are good which is the most important element to my family. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood that is quiet. We experienced no parties or disturbances. The owner, Peter, is a nice and competent host. We loved staying in this well appointed home and would love to return.
Great property in a beautiful location!
Great property in Princeville that backs up to the golf course. The house is newly built and provides ample space with 4 bedrooms and a nice open concept kitchen, living and dining room that is perfect for cooking and hanging out with everyone all in one space. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable with nice bedding. You can walk to one of the beaches right by the St. Regis from the house or there are many other beaches a short drive away. Our favorite beaches nearby were Anini Beach and Hanalei Bay. There is a grocery store as well as restaurants right in the Princeville shopping center about a mile down the road. Hanalei is also a great area with shops and a few restaurants. The house comes with 4 bikes, snorkel gear, 2 boogie boards and 2 stand up paddle boards as well as beach chairs and umbrellas. I would highly recommend this property and the area for your stay on Kauai!
Beautiful home in perfect part of Kauai
This 4 bedroom home in Princeville on golf course was in excellent condition was the perfect fit for our trip. The 2 rooms off to the side made for a great spot for the teens to sleep. The views from the backyard to the front were amazingly lush and green. Close to queens bath, St Regis Resort, Hideaway beach, and town of Hannalei. The kitchen well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. Only down side would be the no A/C for those sensitive to heat and humidity. For us would not keep us from returning here again.
Wonderful property, fantastic host.
We had a great eight day vacation in Princeville and this newly constructed home made it even better. Its tasteful design and practical layout made it the perfect place for our two families. It has four perfect size bedrooms with three gorgeous baths. The kitchen was fabulous and fully equipped, we like home made meals and cooking was super easy in this large kitchen that literally had everything you can think of. The fact that everything was brand new was a nice surprise.
The location was great, the backyard is practically the golf course that gives a huge open view. The St. Regis Beach is a short 5 minute walk and we also discovered that we were super close to Hideaway Beach and also to Queen's Bath, both a must see.
Our host Pete was super nice and very accommodating, communicating was easy and he would respond right away anytime we had a question. Having Pete as our host was great and made us feel very welcome. He supplied his home with all the beach equipment you would need so we did not have to rent anything.
This beautiful home was a jackpot for us and a huge success, we would love to come back to Kauai and if we do we will stay here again for sure.
Thank you Pete for making our vacation perfect.
Princeville at Hanalei is recognized as one of the premier Ocean View Resort Communities in the world…one visit to this magnificent island destination and you’ll learn why. A perfect setting awaits your visit to Princeville at Hanalei, situated among the lush Sea Cliffs that tower over Kauai’s picturesque Hanalei Bay, and minutes from world famous Napali and Waimea Canyon.
Princeville at Hanalei still retains the peace and beauty of ancient days, when Hawaiians farmed in the green valley below. Named ‘Princeville’ in 1860 in honor of Hawaii's crown prince, Prince Albert, this one of a kind, Ocean View Resort has been home to Sugar Plantations and Cattle Ranches. Princeville is a thriving Resort Community with Ocean View Home sites overlooking Hanalei Bay, the Golf Courses and lush green sea cliffs. The natural beauty of Kauai is enhanced by our carefully planned landscaping and architecture as well as all the amenities you could wish for a gracious lifestyle. Princeville at Hanalei is considered one of the world's most beautiful destinations. Situated among the lush sea cliffs that tower over Kauai's picturesque Hanalei Bay, minutes from world famous Napali and Waimea Canyon and many more activities you won't want to miss during your stay in paradise.
Then, as the sun goes down, recall your adventures over a cocktail at the Princeville Restaurant & Bar located on the lower level of the beautiful Prince Clubhouse.
The 251-room St. Regis Princeville is considered by many to be the premier luxury option in Hawaii, and given the stunning setting overlooking Hanalei Bay, it's hard to disagree. Guests can expect warm, sophisticated decor, suites with personal butler service, world-class golf, and a memorable breakfast buffet on a terrace with gorgeous ocean views. The discerning clientele this resort attracts will find little to fault, though if one had to nitpick, the formal dress code might not appeal to everyone, and food prices -- as one might expect at this caliber of property -- are steep. The location on Kauai's lush, ruggedly beautiful northern coast makes for natural beauty that's unparalleled, but rain is more frequent here and the beach, though lovely, doesn't have the finest sand.
