Our home is available as a winter seasonal rental from November, 2018, to April, 2019, for $14,000, plus utilities, plowing, cleaning and security deposit of $1,500.

The master suite, located on the first floor, has a spacious bath with a shower for two & even has a special window overlooking the river! Watch the river as you soak in the two-person whirlpool. Our home is located on a quiet country road off Route 100, which 'has been called the most scenic in New England' by Yankee magazine writer Michael Blanding. 'In some circles, it's known as the 'Skier's Highway,' since it connects Vermont's giants - Mount Snow, Killington, Sugarbush, and Stowe - like knots on a whip.' Let's not forget Stratton, which is only 15 minutes from our door!

Snowshoe or cross country ski right from the home along the peaceful West River Trail. Ski or snowboard at Stratton, Bromley or Magic, which are all within 15 minutes of our door.

For shoppers, visit the designer outlets so conveniently in Manchester (20 minutes west) and find your groceries locally on the mountain at a great little supermarket that has more than you can imagine! Spring through summer and fall, splash in the river at the rear of the house. Try biking or hiking right from the home along the peaceful West River Trail that meanders along the river and through the woods all the way to Brattleboro if you wish to go that far! Visit the newly renovated South Londonderry train station, the new home of the Friends of the West River Trail. Walk to The Pantry, a village store, just a short walk into the tiny town of South Londonderry, for morning coffee and homemade pastries. Indulge in a massage or enjoy one of many fine restaurants nearby. Enjoy swimming at lovely lakes within 30 minutes of the home. Kayak or canoe or fish the many rivers. Enjoy fireworks and parades on July 4 at many local small towns. Church suppers and antique and craft shows can be found nearby.

Weston is just a short drive with it's Vermont Country Store, summer theater at the Weston Playhouse, and charming shops. Manchester, a shopper's paradise, is only 20 minutes away. Hildene, the Lincoln family home, is worth a visit to see the magnificent restored home and enjoy their hiking trails. The village of Ludlow and Okemo Mountain are 30 minutes away.
If you are a fisherman or woman, just ask us where the special places are where you can catch 16-22" trout, which is what we caught in the summer 2017. Fishing season opens in 2018 on April 14. Enjoy Free Fishing Day in Vermont on Saturday, June 9, no license required only on this date! Licenses for the rest of the season may be purchased online through the Vermont Fish and Wildlife website or at local stores.
The Orvis School of Flyfishing is in Manchester as is their flagship store. The Battenkill River is famous for fishing and is also great for canoeing with access points just south of Manchester.
If you love tubing and floating in its special swimming holes, there are entry points all along the West River from Jamaica to Newfane and beyond. We can direct you to those places.
If you're fond of horseback riding, a great stable is only 10 minutes from our home.
How about something unique? The Land Rover Driving School is located at the Equinox Hotel in Manchester. With an instructor at your side, take control of the wheel in challenging off-road situations.
Don't miss the Strolling of the Heifers held the first weekend in June, down Main Street in Brattleboro. This parade features up to 100 heifer calves, bedecked in flowers and led by future farmers, followed by cows, bulls, horses, goats, poultry, floats, tractors, bands, clowns, and much, much more!
In summer, there are three spectacular meteor showers that can be viewed from our lawn, which surrounds our home: July 28-29 The Delta Aquarids - predawn, about 20 bright-yellow meteors occur per hour. Look for meteors to fan out east, north and west. July 29-30 The Capricornids - known for producing brilliant fireballs. It's best to observe right after sunset. If you can see the Milky Way, you'll probably be able to see this shower. August 12-13 The Perseids - look toward the constellation Perseus (about halfway above the horizon in the northeast quadrant of the sky) in the late evening. Recline with your feet facing south and look straight up. The Perseids should appear over your left could see 60 meteors in an hour.
The Bondville Fair, at the end of August, features agricultural displays and contests, quilt show and contest, crafts, rides and games, music, bingo, truck, ox and horse pulling, antique tractors, clog and line dancing.
The 34th Annual Peru Fair, held in late September, is rated by the state's Chamber of Commerce as a Vermont's Top 10 event. The homespun Peru Fair steps off with a 9:45 a.m. parade, followed by a pig roast, live music, dancing, hay rides and other entertainment. Dozens of local artisans and food vendors. Parking available at nearly Bromley Mountain, with shuttle buses provided to and from the village.
