We arrived at the home only to have to shovel the snow off the steps and entrance to the home. They were icy and a mess. No ice melt around.
We then were unable to get into the home. The code we were given was not the correct code. After being on hold and a long conversation and trial at the front desk, we were given the correct code to enter the home.
After unloading our truck and cars we found a major issue in the basement of the home where the master bedroom and bunk bed rooms are located. At the bottom of the stairs there was a lot of water damage. Water continued to leak through the ceiling into a light fixture and onto the wood floor that had caused the floor to buckle in several locations. The water continued to leak at a damaging pace. This was particularly concerning after one of the maintenance men stated to me that he submitted a report regarding this leak back in October and it appears no one has fixed it.
Other issues we encountered when we arrived were some of the switches in the electrical breaker box needed to be switched on to have power in some of the rooms, several light bulbs burned out, the clock battery was dead, dirty dishes, dirty sheets with dog hair on them on the bunk beds and trundle bed under the bunk bed.
I also called again on day 2 of our stay when we found out the toilet in the master bedroom would not flush d/t the stopper being broke at the chain connection. A different maintenance man was able to come over and fix this issue.
The front desk was very nice and felt bad for the issues we were having. We were offered 2 different places to relocate to both which were smaller and older and would not house our family. This is terrible customer service. A down grade is not helpful for a family vacation.
This home has so much potential and has a great set-up for a vacation home, but all of the issues I mentioned are due to poor management. I hope to get this message out so this particular home owner and others will be aware of the management issues.
