We have lived in France for the past 5 years. We have embraced the culture and love the wonderful experiences of French life, from bottleing our own wine to foraging for the exquisite- tasting cepe mushroom. Each season brings fetes and festivals of what nature provides.
Ann purchased this cottage in 2012
After visiting many areas we decided that the Charente was visually appealing and offered the lifestyle we desired.
The house setting is tranquil yet close enough for all the necessities of life. The stone walls give it real charm and authenticity. There is even a cornerstone that tells us the house was built in 1833, around Napoleons time!
Spent a lovely week in this well equipped and beautifully situated gite. It is a wonderful centre for visiting cognac, Bordeaux and the western dordogne with their delicious food and wines. When not visiting these areas, it was a delight to be able to relax, using the swimming pool and enjoying the peaceful and beautiful countryside and pretty garden. Hosts were most welcoming and helpful with advice for trips. Highly recommended and we would certainly come again.
