Villa Morell Vell is a superb country house which has played host to a number of celebrity holidays. The interior is finished to a extremely high standard with classic/modern with a touch of tradition decor. The private gardens and swimming pool are just as exquisite and there is something for all the family.
This spectacular villa, completed this year, has an electric gate with an up-to-date outside control panel for security and privacy. The wide driveway encircles the garden and has a covered area for parking in the shade. Brush fencing runs around the edge of the garden and there are also newly planted conifers to ensure complete seclusion around the pool and the lower terraces.
A pathway through the pretty garden leads to an enchanting Japanese wooden bridge over a wonderful pond full of abundant water lilies - a totally charming feature which is safely fenced off also. There is also a fabulous mature olive tree, an array of majestic palms, colourful hibiscus, exotic Strelitzia (bird-of-paradise flowers) and views of the Puig Maria and distant mountains.
Over the other side of the bridge is the stylish hot tub adjacent to the large swimming pool which is surrounded by a decked sun terrace. There is an exterior hot and cold shower here with a wood surround. The pool, of unusual design, has roman steps and is of an infinity style cascading on one side, with a waterfall feature - ideal for pool massages. The garden has a large lower patio furnished with tables and chairs next to the covered barbeque area that also features a wood-burning oven. Antique farming implements, bright ceramic pots and a decorative horse and cart lend this corner an authentic Mallorcan feel.
Next to the barbecue on the lower side of the pool is a large annexe building, not attached to the main house, with full size glass sliding doors looking out to the garden and pool. There is an open-plan full kitchen and dining area with a large centre solid wood table to seat 12. It has lovely rustic ceramic floors and a sloping wood beamed ceiling. There is a tv in the corner with a wood dresser and comfortable seating. It s almost a complete self-contained villa!
The kitchen has a large stainless steel fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, double sinks, an electric fitted oven and a gas hob. A separate large utility room houses the washing machine, and there is also a separate WC cloakroom. (See the last interior images on the video to view this great entertaining annex).
The main villa building is split level. Crossing the large patio on the lower level is a doorway into the second kitchen. This one is slightly smaller, decorated with mellow-coloured walls, spotlights and pale fitted units. There is a double ceramic sink, vitro hob with fitted electric oven, a large, panelled fridge freezer, marble work surfaces and a breakfast table and chairs.The villa has central heating radiators throughout and hot/cold air-con units, even in the annexe. The floors have striking ceramic tiles and all the rooms are decorated in an uncluttered superior Mallorcan style with beamed ceilings and spotlighting.
Next to the kitchen is a wc bathroom leading into a lovely dining room that has a comfortable, clean decor with striped sofa chairs, a tv, cream walls and a large wood dining table. There are double doors here leading out to the lower patio and superb views out to the garden. The dining room has a decorative staircase leading up to two of the bedrooms on this side of the villa.
There is a double bedroom with window overlooking the barbecue area. Next to it is a separate full family bathroom in rich marble and a twin bedroom with window out towards the garden a little further along the hallway.The bedrooms are beautifully decorated in a country style with lots of detail, gorgeous ochre-coloured walls, lovely prints and handcrafted embroidery.
Steps up from the dining room lead into the large, bright lounge with furnishings of the highest quality. Sliding doors here open onto a sizeable covered terrace which overlooks the pool and gardens. It has large wide wicker sofas, gorgeous iron lamps and a lovely dining area for the warmer months. The amazing thing about this villa is the wide choice of dining and seating areas that it has.
On this side of the villa, on the lower level next to the lounge is a double bedroom with a window looking on to the covered terrace area and a family shower bathroom which is next to the lounge. There is a winding staircase to the bedrooms on the upper level on this side and underneath these stairs is a small mini-bar in the corner of the lounge complete with a small fridge for cold drinks.
The two upstairs bedrooms both share a vast upper terrace that has fabulous views over the countryside towards the mountains and of the swimming pool and gardens below. This terrace has pretty terrace furniture and sun seating.
One of the rooms is a twin with an en-suite shower bathroom and the other is a double bedroom with en-suite full bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.(Important note: the bedrooms on the upper level of this villa have access by two separate staircases almost as if the house were two separate buildings with the hallways on the top level not connecting. Access to the two parts of the villa is through the lounge and the dining room on the lower level).
The Finca Morell Vell is excellent for cyclists as it s on a flat area of countryside and only 2.5 km from Pollenca Old Town, and approximately 3km from Puerto Pollensa Bay - an easy ride away from both.
If air conditioning is provided this will be set on a timer between the hours of 18.30hrs – 08.00 hours.
During the winter months extra costs for heating will be required, please enquire for details.
Linens changed once per week as well as a midweek towel change and light clean.
