Ideally located at the entrance of the village of Goult, the house sits in the heart of a small hamlet. Though recently constructed, the property contains all the charm and traditional materials of the region. The door opens onto a staircase leading to the ground floor to the public areas and bedroom 1, and upstairs to the 3 other bedrooms.
Down the stairs, you arrive in the living room and a fully equipped kitchen with a large table for family meals. Thanks to large windows, the rooms are very bright. Also, you have direct access to the terrace and garden. The pool is secured by a fence. The bedroom 1 located next to the entrance is spacious with storage cupboards. It has its own shower room with wash basin. Independent toilets are located right next to the stairs. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with double bed, one of which has its own shower room. The 4th bedroom with twin beds, shares the bathroom with the bedroom 3. There is independent WC.
The garden is shaded by trees. There is a part of a covered terrace with dining for lunch in the shade and a seating area to relax. This home offers every comfort for a perfect family vacation!
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
Living in Hong Kong, we wanted my family to have a foothold in Provence to enjoy the sunny days in idyllic surroundings.
VL HT purchased this villa in 2016
You are in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages of the Luberon, with all amenities within walking distance (bakery, butcher, grocery, cafe, restaurants)
This is the real Provence, full of character. A sweet dolce vita of a climate and pure clean air which just breathes the incredible contrasts between a rich, and variable natural environment : the blue strides of lavender, the subtle nuances of green in the forests, the flamboyant and blinding colours of the cliffs of ochre, or the austere white of the limestone hills.
This is a great house right in the village. Sandra the property manager is extremely knowledgeable about the area and had many great suggestions on what to do to maximize your experience in Provence. The house itself is very comfortable with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. Kitchen was adequately stocked; we were able to cook several meals with no issues. The kitchen and living room both look out to the backyard and pool which is great for the kids to utilize while you’re cooking or hanging out inside. The pool is not heated so you’re not likely going to be using it in the spring (we visited in mid April and it was too cold for the kids). The location of the house was perfect, a two minute walk from the center of the town which offers several restaurants, a grocery’s store, bakery and an awesome neighborhood cafe/bar called cafe de la poste. Highly recommend this house and the property manager. Also was the easiest check out we’ve had in a vacation rental. Didn’t even have to strip the beds. Just took out the trash and we were done!
We can highly recommend this house. Although comparatively modern, it's built to a high standard from traditional Provencal materials, making it feel as if it could be 200 years old, with lots of character. The downstairs rooms remain cool on hot days and there is a well laid out garden, with two eating areas - one in the open air for evening meals, and one under a beautifully constructed loggia for shade during the daytime. The lush grass and plants are watered by a nightime system and there's a gas barbecue provided, although we didn’t use it.
The private pool is separated off by a fence and gate for safety if you have little ones, and is almost entirely hidden from any other buildings surrounding the house. There is even a garage, although the folding doors are a little fiddly. Both the house and the garden are stylishly equipped, with comfortable sofas, TV, good wifi that seemed to work throughout the house and garden, and a big fridge, gas and electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen.
We stayed there for two weeks and a very friendly cleaner came in twice during that time, changing the bedding once and leaving the place spotless both times. Someone also came to check and clean the pool while we were there, so it is well managed, looked after by the friendly agency in the village – so someone is nearby to sort out problems if any arise.
The house is on the edge of the village, so it’s just a gentle 5 minute walk to the café, boulangerie and shops. If you don’t know Goult, it is right in the middle of the most popular part of the Luberon – Peter Mayle’s Menerbes is across the valley, and famous Gordes is just a few kilometres to the north – but unlike them it still has the feel of a community where lots of locals still live, so is popular with those in the know. It has several restaurants but the Cafe de la Poste is a focus, for leisurely coffees in the morning, food and wine at lunchtime, and drinks in the evening. Unusually, while they don’t serve food at night, you can order a pizza from the shop opposite and they'll bring it over the road to you on a plate. There is also usually live music there on Friday nights.
Further afield, there are lots of lovely villages and antiquities to visit nearby, and the town of Apt is just 15 mins away in the car, with big supermarkets, a large weekly market and several good restaurants. Avignon is about 30-40 mins away.
We really enjoyed staying here.
A fantastic week in a well placed and well equipped home in a small and very pretty Luberon village. Everything was perfect, from the booking to departure, and the staff at Immo Goult are very friendly and helpful. We were travelling as two couples each with our own car, and there was plenty of parking. The home itself is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Four large bedrooms, two of which are ensuite (sink and shower), one large bathroom, and two separate toilets. We cooked in as well as eating out - lots of dishes, glasses, pans etc, and we really felt at home. The pool was closed - October - but we were too busy exploring the Luberon, Avignon, Arles etc! We would stay again - highly recommended!
