Bait and switch
The owner cancelled our reservation without notifying us. Tahoe Management tried to substitute a far inferior property that listed for far less, without notification. We inquired about the location when we received keys and they tried to suggest that it was Aleah’s that unit, until I gave them my original reservation info. They sent us to another property, that was not yet cleaned from the previous tenant. Then finally sent us to a 3rd alternate which was nice, but full of spider webs, due to an unkempt exterior.
We were late in arriving to our son’s wedding festivities, due to this shameless and poorly managed “change”. If you review the messages between me and the property owner, you will see that I confirmed the availability of the property after finding that the listing had been removed. He was dishonest in his confirmation of availability. Tahoe Management was dishonest in their actions, as well.
Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay. The 2-hour frenzied dash to find an acceptable option was unnecessary and emotionally exhausting. We had a tight schedule, which would not have been an issue, as we originally checked in plenty of time to get prepared for our son’s wedding rehearsal festivities.
