Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

Crescent Lake Cabin is a secluded, private cabin on Crescent Creek near the town of Crescent Lake Junction in Oregon. It is the ideal location for a secluded, relaxing, natural getaway, with activities the whole year round.

A recent entry in the cabin guest book says, 'What a wonderful spot by the creek! We started the weekend with ambitions of hikes and canoeing on lakes and then soon realized that the best thing was staying by the cabin, walking through the woods, splashing in the creek, playing with inner tubes, playing fetch with our dog, enjoying the wood stove and treasuring each other's company.'

If you do have ambitions of hikes, canoeing, mountain biking, or exploring in general, there is plenty to do:

At Crescent Lake Cabin, you can:

* Fish from our dock

* Swim in either of two swimming holes

* Float down the creek

* Enjoy your morning coffee with your feet in the creek

* Cross-country ski or snowmobile from our front door (winter only!)

We are also:

* 5 minutes from fishing and water skiing on Crescent Lake

* 5 minutes from Odell Lake for more fishing

* Near world-class mountain biking

* Near the Pacific Crest Trail and other trailheads

* I can provide you with hiking and mountain biking trail guides

* 10 minutes from Willamette Pass Ski Area

* 60 miles from Crater Lake and Diamond Lake

* 1 mile from Crescent Lake Junction, with gas, a convenience store, a burger restaurant, and a tavern

Also, people often ask if there will be snow, and my best response is that I can't predict the weather! The trend is that from November through March, there is a good chance of snow, but it is not guaranteed. In 2014-2015, there was little snow. This winter, 2015-16, has plenty of snow. Also, when there is snow, travel is more difficult, and it is necessary to use the wood stove to keep warm. If this sounds like a fun adventure to you, I encourage you to stay in the winter!

About Mark Rabenstein

I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, especially at our cabin (Crescent Lake Cabin!) For example, in the summer we hike, float in the creek, mountain bike, and fish. In the winter, we ski and sled in the driveway. Professionally, I'm a chemist and a software designer and tester.

Mark Rabenstein purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Mark Rabenstein chose Crescent

As a kid, my family had a cabin. As a parent, I wanted to give the same to my children. They have grown up visiting the cabin. Crescent Lake Cabin is convenient to us; it is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from where we live in Bend (and the same distance from Eugene!). Also, We enjoy the seclusion of 3.5 acres, as well as being on Crescent Creek. The natural setting is also gorgeous, with the creek, meadows with butterflies, and pine trees.

What makes this cabin unique

In the summer, we enjoy spending time at the dock on the creek, and playing with the kids in the creek. We usually don't go to the lake because the creek is so fun and convenient! In the winter, we enjoy walking out the door and cross-country skiing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This place is a steal! The cabin was actually much roomier than we expected with more sleeping area than it looks like online. The king size bed was super comfortable. The cabin was very well stocked. We LOVED the creek which is huge and fun to use floaty toys to float down and the crawdad trap was a hit with the kids. We also made s'mores at the fire pit and that was great. The balcony with BBQ that overlooks the creek is a great place to sit outside and eat. The two lakes within 5 minutes of the cabin are great for fishing and swimming and you can rent boats at either one. Beautiful, calm place to stay. We brought a few movies to watch at night at there is no cable but if we didn't have the kids I probably wouldn't have.

Thanks,

Matt and Laurie

Well done

  • 4 of 5

This is a great property for renters that are into outdoor activities. It's location is perfect for enjoying the area. Both Crescent and Odell Lakes are easily accessed so there is boating/fishing to be done plus a short walk takes you to the properties small dock which is great for lounging on. There are many bike/walking trails so there is lots to choose from. The owners did a great job refurbishing the property. It is not "fancy" inside so the cabin lends itself to relaxing and enjoying yourself. Overall it is lacking some needed TLC from the owners but nothing major.

Peaceful, beautiful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is adorable and has everything we needed for a relaxing vacation away from it all! Loved that there is no wifi...forced us to unplug and really enjoy our time together. Being able to bring our dog made it even better. We hope to stay again soon!

Quaint Woodsy Rustic Beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Great little spot! What a pretty patio and dock. I recommend anyone visiting to bring bug spray for the outdoors (there were no bugs inside the cabin) Very reasonable boat rentals at ODell lake up the road $60 for two hours. Remote and private location with no cell reception or WiFi, felt really good to “unplug”

Cabin was extremely clean and very comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived early on 5/23/18 and Mark was more than accomdating for our need to travel very early in the morning with a baby and check-in early! Can't tell you how much help that was to first time parents and not having to worry about our kid cry the 6+ hour travel from California. First of all, the drive up to the cabin was very easy and I can't remember hitting any switchbacks or hard terrian on our way there. And as far as the condition of the cabin, it was extremely clean and had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen, living room, bedrooms, all of it, smelled so fresh and clean and were all properly stocked! The photos of inside the cabin really does not represent what the cabin actually looks like inside. It's clean, comfortable, and none of it seemed cheap or tacky. I could not say enough about the whole experience and although we hit a few showers at this time of year and probably because it's Oregon and the clouds had to get us since we're from California (jk) no seriously we were still able to enjoy all the game boards, DVD player, hot stove and overall relaxation. And also, the rain would dry up fairly quickly and be as summer again in a matter of minutes! I do recommend this place if you're looking to get away from the daily routine, it really help me disconnect from the monotonous. Would not hesitate to do business with Mark again!
