Charming Gite in a charming town
Great place where the Owner has thought of everything
An Idyllic property...
This is a fantastic rental with wonderful hosts. The rental is a very tasteful fully self-contained addition attached to the owner's large stone house (which Cathy told me dates from the 1850's). There is a beautiful yard and garden all enclosed within stone fences. The place is very up-to-date and spotlessly clean. As a couple with two kids, there was plenty of room with a master bedroom and second bedroom with two single beds. It is a 4-5 minute walk to the town square with Carrefour grocery store, bakeries, cafes, and shops. The Cancale port is about a 1 KM walk down a path along the water or down one of the main streets. The quiet beach we went to is Plage de la saussaye, which is a 7 or 8 minute drive. St. Malo is less than 30 minutes away by car and Mt. St. Michel about 45 minutes along the coast.
Cathy and her husband are very warm and accommodating hosts. We arrived later than expected on a Friday night and were warmly welcomed and they provided all sorts of information about the area. Our only regret is that we stayed for only 3 nights; we hope to return in a couple of years to stay again. (Merci Cathy!!!!)
A lovely cottage in a peaceful location
We truly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and tastefully furnished cottage. Conveniently located at a short walking distance from the coast, the harbor and the center of town. The newly equipped kitchen makes home dining a pleasure and the surrounding garden adds opportunities for rest and relaxation in sunny weather.
The owners were particularly friendly and always available to assist in any way possible.
We highly recommend it!
Nice house in a great location
The location is perfect, in a very nice residential neighborhood on the edge of the center of Cancale. The wonderful Sunday Market starts just a block from the house. Walk to the center of Cancale in minutes. Or walk to the sea in a few minutes and follow the coast path to the Port.
This is a small house attached to the owner's home. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, dining area, living room. No TV, wifi signal is not strong. Bathroom with shower downstairs. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom. You have your own garden area with nice outdoor furniture. The garden is beautiful.
This is a very nice town to stay in. Three or four good cafes in the center, a small Carrefour grocery, two very good bakeries, a good fruit and vegetable shop. The port, 10 minutes down a steep road from the center, is lively and full of restaurants and cafes. We had a good dinner at Chez Victor. The nearby beaches are fantastic, it is a short drive to Saint-Malo, Dinan, Dinard, Mont St Michel. We had a lovely week in Cancale.
Wonderful hosts, property in peaceful neighbourhood of Cancale. Ideally located for
the Sunday Market , short scenic family walk to Cancale Centre and the Port to embrace
the Oyster culture with a bottle or two of chilled Muscadet on the beach, and amble back.
Beautifully maintained property and garden , suitable for us with two small children.
