Live the dream and enchantment of Old New Mexico with a getaway to the charming village of Corrales, voted by Money Magazine to be one of America's top 25 small towns. Your home-away-from-home is a cozy casita guest house, newly built in the historic style with beamed viga ceilings, thick stucco-ed walls, kiva fireplace, and many other authentic architectural details.
From your own porch/portal or from the bedroom window seat, you can see spectacular views of the rugged Sandia Mountains. A very short stroll away is the romantic Rio Grande River and the beautiful Bosque Nature Conservancy, offering miles of trails for hiking, cycling and horseback riding. A few minutes drive brings you to downtown Corrales, with a selection of fine restaurants and shops. And not far down the road you'll find major shopping and the many attractions of the City of Albuquerque, including museums, theatres, the balloon fiesta park, the city zoo, as well as the fabulous Sandia Mountain wilderness. The famous capital city of Santa Fe is only 45 minutes away with attractions too numerous to mention.
The casita has a full bath and bedroom suite, while the living room features a fireplace and well-equipped kitchen nook. While not officially a "bed and breakfast", the kitchen comes stocked with fresh fruit and other morning essentials, and you have all the equipment necessary to create all sorts of cullinary delights.
If desired, your horses are welcome to share the experience from a shady paddock on the property.

The casita was indeed charming, cozy and comfortable. Quite cute and well appointed. A very nice base of operations for our two week stay. The Kiva fireplace was nice to have on our several cold mornings and evenings. Comfortable bed and big closet in bedroom as well as chest of drawers and desk. Bathroom quite satisfactory with a good shower. Compfy living and dining area. The kitchen had nice appliances and was very well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc. In general the casita was nicely appointed with quality architectural features. Nothing cheap or chintzy about it. Even though it sits close to owner's house there is plenty of privacy. For horse people there is even a nice horse, Smartie, in the paddock adjacent to the casita's front courtyard. Smartie enjoys attention and carrots. Very nice views of the Sandia Mountains and easy access to the Bosque (woodlands) along the Rio Grande River. Nice trails for running and dog walking. Speaking of dogs, the only negative, pretty minor, is that the neighborhood has an overabundance of dogs which, when we walked our dog, created barking bedlam. Fortunately, the dogs tended not to bark when unprovoked and very little at night. In fact, the nights were pretty quiet and peaceful. The owners' dogs were quite friendly and no problem. Corrales is a funky artsy and horsey village with several good restaurants and shopping fairly close by. We would definitely stay there again.
The Casita was very clean and comfortable. We loved the gas fireplace and feeding Smari the horse carrots!
The title of this review really says it all! This little casita was just perfect. Warm, fully equipped, beautiful. We will make a point of staying here again on our next road trip.
We enjoyed the beautiful casita. It is truly a home away from home. One glitch with the satellite tv we wanted to watch one night, might have been the weather. It was a stormy night. Very comfortable bed--made for restful sleep the 4 nights we stayed.
My wife and I live in Albuquerque. I was looking for a convenient one-night getaway for her birthday. This casita was amazing. Perfect for two people and we brought our dog. The small yard is fenced, there is an Icelandic horse next door, and dogs Hannah & Max are there to greet you from the main house. You have a nice mountain view from your porch and the casita has everything you need for a short visit. The bed is comfy, the fireplace is great and everything in the casita is clean, well-appointed and very inviting. We felt very much at home and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this casita, both to locals and out-of-towners. There is a winery down the street and you are very close to all the activities in Corrales, which is a neat little town. Enjoy!!!!
