Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday cabin in Angel Fire - Loggers Cabin

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Very nice cabin on one acre in the woods that backs up to state land that is accessible for hiking and biking. Not a house in a neighborhood like most of Angel Fire, but a cabin on the mountain with fantastic views and only glimpses of neighbors. Peaceful and secluded, yet only five minutes from all the amenities of town.

Upstairs are the kitchen, dining and living areas, two bedrooms (each with a full bed) and two bathrooms. Downstairs are two bedrooms (one with a full bed and one with two sets of twin bunks), a bathroom with washer and dryer, and a two car garage. The upstairs deck offers fantastic views of the Moreno Valley and unbelievable sunsets.

The cabin is perfect for families, with space for the kids as well as adults. Satellite TV, books, and games are available.

Summer offers mild temperatures for all the nearby activities: golf, hiking, biking, horseback riding, rafting, kayaking, and fishing. Winter offers downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, tubing, and snowmobiling. Angel Fire Ski Resort is five miles away. Taos Ski Resort is one hour away, as is Red River Ski Resort.

I'm sure you will enjoy our cabin as much as we do!

About Kelle Pido

This will be my retirement home in a few years. I can't wait! Until then, I share it with you...

Why Kelle Pido chose New Mexico

I love the seclusion of the cabin while still being only 5 minutes from town. I can only see 1 house down in the valley from my deck. It is the epitomy of peace and serenity. Inside, the cabin is homey and comfortable. It is my favorite place to be.

Family Funtime

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is a little piece of Heaven on Earth. We've had the opportunity to spend two family vacation's in the wonderful cabin. I would encourage anyone wanting the peaceful serenity of the mountains or if you're just needing the rouged feel of the outdoors with all of todays comforts, to give this cabin a try.... you will not be disappointed.

Great value!

A friend (who lives across the country from me) wanted to do a kid-friendly vacation together, so we met at this cabin and spent several blissful days here. We each have four kids (eight children total!) and the setup was just perfect for a low-stress vacation with so many children. The kids all stayed in the bed and bunk beds downstairs, and then my friend and I each had a room (and bathroom!) to ourselves upstairs. The cabin was surrounded by lots of forest to explore, and someone prior had built a "stick fort" of sorts in the back yard which our kids fixed up and spent hours playing in. My friend and I sat on the porch and relaxed and chatted while they played.

The cabin is not swanky, which is good because with so many children in the mix we did not have to worry about breaking fancy glass items or fragile furnishings. The one thing that is not child-friendly is the stairs, including the banister overlooking the indoor stairs - the spacing between posts is very wide and I had to continually pull my toddler away from it because I was worried he would fall through! Not a problem for older kids, though.

If you come here with kids in the summertime, there is a new playground down the road at the Country Club, open to the public. It even has a merry-go-round! The nearby lakes are also great to explore. Coming from 100 degree Tucson temperatures, this was a nice, cool summer option and everyone seemed to enjoy it immensely. Highly recommend to anyone with kids who can safely navigate stairs, and looking for a no-frills place to vacation.

Owner's Response: Mountains and summertime equals nice cool fun. I'm glad y'all enjoyed yourselves. You are correct about the inside stair bannister. With the small log construction it does have larger than usual gaps. I'm glad this didn't cause too much of a problem for you. I hope y'all can meet in the middle again and come stay with us!

Okay cabin in Angel Fire

  • 3 of 5

My family and I stayed at the cabin Feb. 12-15th. You definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Because of the warm temperatures the snow had melted off the road and it was about 6 inches of mud. It would refreeze overnight, so we were able to get out in the morning otherwise it would have been a challenge even in our 4 wheel drive Toyota Sequoia if we wanted to leave in the evening. The area around the cabin is beautiful. Loved the deck. Lots of privacy and places to walk/hike. It was about a 10 min. drive to the ski slopes. The cabin is very large and spacious. We had some issues with the coffee maker that I made the owner aware of so hopefully it will be replaced. One of the upstairs bathrooms could use a little updating (toilet was old) but there was only 3 of us so we all used the other bathroom which was nicer. I think there was some issues with the cleaning service ( I think they forgot to clean the kitchen before we arrived) I e-mailed the owner upon our return home. The bathroom towels/washcloths had a strange odor - probably been sitting a long time in the cabinets. A few other issues regarding a mouse. Otherwise, it is a beautiful area and the cabin would be fine if it had a good top to bottom cleaning.

Great pet-friendly cabin near ski resort

  • 5 of 5

We loved the wooden cabin. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. The scenery surrounding was beautiful. The gps didn't allow us to put in the address, but Kelle's directions were very easy to follow. You should note that this is at a bottom of a hill and very hard to get out in icy conditions (bring road salt)! Also the coffee maker didn't work. Everything else was great though. There was tons of wood, and we enjoyed making a fire every night.

Peaceful Seclusion

  • 4 of 5

Looking for peace, rest, and beauty - the this is the place! We had 3 families, ten people total there was plenty of room and things to do. Only caution if you go in winter make sure you have 4 wheel drive or chains to get up and down the last hill before the cabin. It'd be a great place for summer fun too. The owner was great to work with and the price was super!
