A great location for a perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

The views from the property sum up everything that makes Zermatt so special - the Matterhorn bathed in sunshine, the snow covered pistes and, in the evening the twinkling lights of the village below.

The accommodation was excellent for six adults and the pictures do not do justice to the comfortable sitting area and well appointed kitchen and dining space. The beds are comfortable and the showers hot and powerful.

The short downhill walk to the Sunnega lift is easy in the morning, especially with skis and boots left at Flexirent. The climb back in the afternoon might best be done by taxi, depending on the length of time spent at lunch on the mountain, shopping or a visit to Elsie's bar.

Superlative - only one word needed to describe this apartment. We stayed here in February 2017 (2 mothers and 4 adult daughters) and everything was truly excellent. The apartment is more spacious than the photos convey and has everything required for a perfect holiday. The views are stunning particularly from the sitting room and the location is ideal - a short stroll to the lifts and into town. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed with plenty of storage space and extremely comfortable beds!! All the en-suites are designed with comfort in mind and have quality fittings throughout. The Alpenlodge next door provided additional services such as ski passes and the hotelier was extremely helpful in every way. Peter was fantastic - with quick responses to emails and plenty of advice and recommendations for all aspects of our holiday - ski hire, restaurants etc. Any non-skiers would be more than happy to relax in this wonderful apartment too. We will definitely be returning to this top notch apartment.

Amazing Property in a Fantastic Alpine Resort

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous very well appointed apartment in the lovely resort of Zermatt far exceeded our expectations. The property itself is modern, cosy and with all the amenities you would expect for a top end apartment. The views from the garden are beautiful especially at night when all the lights of Zermatt come on. Zermatt itself has plenty on offer. Fantastic skiing and snowboarding but also plenty of high altitude walks on well prepared paths for those who prefer walking.

Shops are plentiful and some excellent restaurants - though be sure to book in high season. Peter was incredibly helpful throughout the entire booking process. The little hotel below the property is ideal for breakfast when you first arrive and they also did a raclette one evening which was fun.

Amazing property with five star views

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time renting from Peter, and our third time in Zermatt. We love this place so much that we stayed for a month this summer! The apartment is spacious, perfectly decorated (comfortable yet modern), with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We are two adult and two toddlers and the 3 bedroom layout was more than enough room! And the view, my goodness the view. You have the most majestic view of the Matterhorn, and the little yard is perfect for candlelit dinners outside. It is close enough to the center of town (10 minute walk), but just enough outside to afford the view and quiet. Working with Peter is a delight, and the apartment's proximity to the Hotel Alpenlodge is super helpful, This has become our little home away from home, and we can't wait to go back again.

Zermatt is located in one of the highest resorts in the Alps ensuring the best possible ski conditions. Dominated by the Matterhorn and its surrounding scenery, it combines, great year round skiing (313km of ski pistes) with a beautiful car free village, incredible restaurants, lively Après ski and fantastic shopping.

As well as being famous for the Matterhorn, Zermatt boasts an incredible selection of mountain restaurants. The skiing is world class with four major interconnected areas including Sunnega/Rothorn, The Gornergrat, Klein Matterhorn and lastly due to its location on the Swiss/Italian border, Cervinia in Italy.

Zermatt is the only resort in the world where you can go Skiing and snowboarding the whole year round, with 365 days of snow. As the highest altitude, largest and most efficiently developed snow sport location in the Alps, Zermatt offers an absolute snow guarantee. In winter, 360 km of piste attracts skiers of all levels. Unlimited skiing and snowboarding between Switzerland and Italy – no other destination can offer this.

In the summer, you can enjoy the 20 km of pistes on the Zermatt Theodul Glacier. Carve and relax alongside national ski teams from all over the world with the Matterhorn always in sight.

Cross Country Skiing

The 15 km of cross-country skiing trails for classical skiers and skaters located between Täsch and Randa are becoming increasingly popular. There are many secrets to be discovered around the well prepared Loipe Matterhorn.

Hiking in Winter

Zermatt offers 70 km of winter walking paths, 20 km of them above the villages of Täsch and Randa. You will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet away from the pistes, on high altitude paths with marvellous views. Wander through snow-covered woods, or follow the traces of the ancient Wallisers, up to the Zmutt hamlet. Almost all winter walking paths have a gentle inclination, both up and down.

There are plenty of opportunities for Tobogganing in Zermatt. The downhill toboggan journey from Rotenboden lasts between five and ten minutes – and is great fun for all ages.

Snow Shoe Hiking

This is a mode of transport once used by our ancestors. While these were formerly made of wood, small branches and animal sinews, today's snowshoe hiking fans have a choice of high-tech materials. Guided hikes are a very special experience, and are also offered in Randa and Täsch. This is truly a spiritual experience for all ages.

Ice Skating

The natural and artificial ice rinks in the centre of the village offer free fun on the ice from December to the end of February. This is where the youngest ice sport fans get together, to play at being an ice princess or to compete against each other at ice hockey.

You've never seen Zermatt like this before: In free flight, with a bird's eye view, flying with the wind. Paragliding fulfils the dream of flying. And you stay in the air for up to half an hour. Enjoy this wonderful experience and feel as free as a bird!

Fine dining on the slopes is guaranteed with world famous restaurants open throughout the season. There is no resort in the world that offers the same incredible gourmet experiences. There is something very special about enjoying a salad that was picked just moments before from the nearby by garden.

Glacier Paradise And The Gonergrat

The Gornergrat railway will take you to the top of the mountain for breathtaking views. At the top you can visit the Glacier Paradise, a glacier filled with beautiful ice carvings and benches adorned with thick sheep skin rugs

The mountain railways make it possible to effortlessly reach altitudes up to 3,000 metres above sea level. The areas in Täsch and Randa, with breathtaking views of the Weisshorn and the peaks of the Mischabel group, are recommended to those who like to walk up to higher altitudes. Or you can follow in the footsteps of Emile Zola, Eduard Whymper and Albert Schweizer to walk to Trift. And there are walking trails close to the villages for those who prefer shorter less strenuous walking.

Mountaineering and Climbing

The destination Zermatt Täsch Randa has its roots in alpine sport and mountaineering. 65 licensed mountain guides know all about the mountain world around the Matterhorn, with its 38 4,000-metre peaks.

Mountain Biking

Over gravel and stones, through larch and Swiss pine forests, on Single Trails – and all this with a magnificent mountain backdrop: With a total of 100 km with different difficulty levels, you will cover an average of 1,000 metres of altitude.
