Gracious desert retreat perfect for artist & writers in a Historic homestead
I grew up in the desert and am now a city dweller. I was drawn to Wonder Valley because of its vast open spaces, character and its limitless possibilities.

Lovely desert retreat
We stayed here for a weekend to explore Joshua Tree. The house is secluded with awesome views and all the amenities we needed as a couple with a young baby. Mark was a great host. Highly recommend it as a base while you explore the beautiful surroundings. As a town, 29 Palms was less exciting, but you're not far from the town of Joshua Tree and the park, so that was what we cared most about.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this beatuful home with a panaramic view of the desert. Minimalistic but very thought through interior design; there is everything you need for a perfect get away with a lot of privacy, but still very close to the town and the national park. Mark was a great host providing us with detailed instructions and answering questions right away. We would love to come back.
Wonderful little spot!
I took my girlfriend there to propose. She loves the desert and we both loved our stay here. It's just close enough to Joshua Tree to go into town or go on a hike without too much trouble but far enough away that we felt secluded and away from the hustle. The house is super comfy with heating/AC, a big bed (important for my 6ft 5in body), and lots of big windows. Check-in was a breeze. Would stay here again!
Spacious retreat at Joshua Tree
Wonderfully updated with new appointments. Very spacious for two people--particularly enjoyed the large dining area and sliding doors and picture window that gave us wonderful views of the Pinto Mountains. Very much a desert experience but still with a quick drive into town. The windows on the east and west also allowed wonderful sunrise and sunset views. Wifi worked wonderfully, which is often not the case, and we could easily watch movies without a TV. Highly recommended with great value for the price. We look forward to returning.
