This was a wonderful place to stay, and I would happily return.
Parisian to the Max
Amazing location in the living heart of Paris (not touristy), near the gorgeous, deeply welcoming, Luxembourg Gardens. Inside, you inhabit a quintessential Parisian apt. in a totally traditional building, complete with massive carriage entrance to the street (with push-button access), a concierge, a winding staircase with nifty little elevator. Inside is truly "chez Constance," whom we did not meet but who was very nice to us: She is a passionate lover of art and culture, and every room expresses this. The kitchen is all set for cooking and there are three different food places directly across the street that ensure very delicious meals with little or no prep.
Peaceful and comfortable in a great location
I spent only two nights in Paris and am glad that I chose this wonderful apartment to be my temporary home.
It is a safe, comfortable and peaceful place to rest after long days of sightseeing. Eclectically decorated with an artist's sensibility. Anywhere your eyes rest, you will find something interesting to look at.
I didn't use the kitchen, but it seemed well-enough equipped. I especially appreciated the washing machine. Showering is a bit of a challenge in the tiny bathtub. I tried hard to not get water all over the bathroom, with limited success.
The location is really great. I emerged from the subway at the Luxembourg Gardens stop. Then it was a 10 minute walk to the apartment. Half of this is through the Gardens, which is really nice. I could have chosen to switch trains and emerge 50 meters from the apartment too. There are excellent cafes and restaurants all around.
We very much enjoyed our stay in your apartment. It was in a great location and the apartment was as described. We would gladly stay there again in the future.
Great location, old fashioned Paris
This is the real Paris, no glitzy techie boring modern. It has three separate rooms with lots of windows for air flow. Quiet at night and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit odd and the use of sprayer in the tiny tub is a challenge, but that is minor. Constance was a kind and helpful host. Her artistic nature is everywhere.
A lovely Parisienne Perspective
Almost perfect! All the stars are for location, ease and comfort. Location is right by a fabulous market. The men who run the vegetable, fruit and convenience market are kind and have just about anything you could ask for to make your stay perfect. The Asian cuisine restaurant was superb after a hard day of sightseeing. Bagels and Brownies makes for a great lunch. The line outside tells the story....yum. There is a great patisserie and charcuterie as well on the corner. Not to mention restaurants so near. Even if you never made it beyond Rue de Rennes....you’re fine!
The apartment is well equipped for a home cooked meal. Cozy cute, but extremely functional. My husband is a big guy so the bathroom was a tad small. However, this is Paris. Even expensive hotels have smaller facilities. Our arrival was easy due to the competence of the guardian or doorman. He showed us up the elevator and gave us the keys and bid adieu. Negotiations with little French expertise is easy. Bonjour goes a long way everywhere in France! Anyway,...Fun furnishings, safe neighborhood and just plain great.
We can’t thank our hostess enough for doing this great service to anyone who wants to see Paris from a more Parisienne point of view.
