Overview

About the property

Stunning Top Floor Apartment Overlooking The Bay Of Salerno

The Space

Top floor apartment with independent access and car park space. Stunning large terrace overlooking the bay of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast.

Guest Access

The apartment has independent access and has three double bedrooms, two bathrooms one of which en-suite. Fully furnished kitchen and al-fresco eating area on the large terrace. One secure car park space allocated in the shared carpark accessed via an automated gate.

Interaction with Guests

I live in the UK but I am only a phone call or instant message away and always available to help my guests with their enquiries before and during their stay. Marion, my representative welcomes guests at check in and she is also available to help during your stay with any queries you might have.

The Neighbourhood

The apartment is in a sought after area of town, just outside the city centre and in an ideal position to explore the surrounding areas. There are only three neighbours and their families in the villa, and the set up offers the right combination of peace and tranquillity without total isolation!

Getting Around

Your own car would make things easier and most of our guests hire one especially in view of the secure car park space at the property which can also accommodate a people carrier. However, if you would rather not hire a car, and lots of guests don't, there is a bus service with a stop right opposite the entrance gate. As an alternative use the excellent and fairly cheap taxi service. Coaches with Sita buses and railway links are great to and from Salerno, also there are plenty of ferries from the tourist harbour with daily links to the Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri. Excellent motorway links to visit Paestum, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples.

Other Things to Note

Additional cost: electricity Costs: €0.35 per Kwh used. This is mainly to cover in the Summer the cost of the air-conditioning system and to encourage our guests to use it sensibly (also thinking of the property's carbon foot print!) Cleaning service is an additional €50

Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge, as well as the car park space, wi-fi, stocked pantry for breakfast.

The property if fitted with a smoke alarm and with a carbon monoxide alarm. There is a fire suppressing blanket in the kitchen and a small fire extinguisher

Left on Jan 4, 2016 for a stay in Dec 2015

Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful view and her home is inviting and lovely. So attentive great base

  • 5 of 5

The best of all locations we've stayed at. While it is a bit of a ways to train and boat all that is needed is car or cab. Both Marion and Stefano on site support as well as Monica's attention to all of our needs had us in great hands for anything we could want. I loved Monica's recommendation on the car service as well. Driver - Beny - gave us a perfect day of sights including Pompeii and Amalfi coast. I'd come back time and time again! Loved it.

Perfect home awsy from home

  • 5 of 5

Monica and her alternate Marion are the most hospitable hosts imaginable. They went out of their way to make car reservations, send driving directions, and order food. They are simply the perfect host. We thoroughly loved our balcony with expansive view over the Bay of Salerno and greatly enjoyed the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which were ample rooms for the 5 of us.

If there is one thing that is not perfect, and it is pretty minor, it is that there is no cross wind in the apartment due to the way it is constructed. It is not a problem with air conditioning but since i am not too fond of AC, a bit of cross wind works have made our stay perfect. But really if is so minor in the scheme of thing that it should never ever make you question a stay there. So if this property is available, grab it.

Its all about the view.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very spacious. It has everything you could want. The kitchen has all the crockery and utensils you could need. Really it is all about the view. We spent most of our time on the terrace watching life go by. The lounge are is very large. All of the three bedrooms are large and have newly installed air conditioning units.

At first I thought it was a way out and you need to drive into town. I came to realise that this is a good thing as Salerno can be a noisy busy place and Villa Belvedede Is quiet and peaceful. The apartment has free secure parking, again a good thing as parking in the city can be expensive. The parking space is a little tricky as the entrance is on a bend, but with one driving and one watching the mirror opposite for traffic we managed fine. The washing machine was a bonus for us as we had been travelling for a few days before. There was plenty of hot water for the showers. The shower cubicle is a little tight for the larger person, but we managed OK. Marion and Monica were very supportive and checked we were alright and gave advice if needed, but did not intrude on our privacy at all. The old town of Salerno is well worth a visit as is Paestum and the

Cilentana coast area. You can also use the ferries in Salerno to visit the popular placed on the Amalfi Coast area. We enjoyed our stay very much.

cosy, clean and safe

  • 4 of 5

PROS: The villa was very cosy, clean and safe. The view over Salerno is so beautiful and sunsets are breathtaking! Beds were really comfy, not too hard as they so often are in Italy. Monica and Marion are great and gave us all the help we needed. Belvedere is also a good basecamp if you like visiting Amalfi, Paestum, Napoli etc. by car. CONS: No restaurants or cafes near so you have to take a taxi or drive to downtown. Bathrooms are not as good as the rest of the apartment. There are also some minor problems in few details but nothing you couldn't live with. Salerno is an interesting town, really worth of visiting but it was quite cold and rainy at Christmas time. And it was really hard to find a taxi in the centre, the train station was only place to get one.

Loved the view!

  • 5 of 5

Photo of this home were right on. The home was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Monica has everything a person would need. We enjoyed the view every morning and evening. We were so busy sightseeing we didn't have much time in the apartment. Next time we will spend more time in the apartment. The parking space was fantastic. Be sure and follow Monica's directions to the property or you might get lost. It was wonderful being a short drive from the busy area of Salerno. Monica and Marion were both so helpful. Marion told us about the train and the ferry and where buy the tickets. They also recommended good restaurants and had many brochures on activities.

Salerno 8, via de Belvedere

  • 5 of 5

We arrived after a delay at Naples airport it was extremely hot we were met by Marion who was very helpful showing us around the apartment and telling us about the local restaurants and places to visit. We were really taken aback by the apartment with its tiled/marbled floor spacious rooms but more so the the view from the balcony area which is very large we could the whole of Salerno the small harbour and the larger port the view was breathtaking. The parking we got used to after a few days which is within a secure area with an electric sliding door and getting out onto the road. Coming home after a hard day at the beach or of or the Greek ruins at PAESTUM was good to relax with a cold beer on the balcony patio area seeing Italian life go by some 300/400 feet up looking down on the town and watching the local fishing boats catching fish with a full view of the bay.Overall we really recommend this as a stay totally relaxing and oh by the way South facing sun until dusk for sun lovers.

YOUR HOST - ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Monica, originally from Salerno, I live in the UK where I have been for most of my adult life. The apartment in Villa Belvedere is part of my beloved family home and it's my precious retreat when I go back to Italy. I have been lucky to have shared it with lots of lovely guests over the past two years. My best friend Marion, originally from Germany, by now a fully fledged Italian, will welcome you and look after you during your stay. I am always contactable to offer my assistance before and during my guests' stay. The world is a much smaller place with all the different ways to get and stay in touch!

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

With the best view for miles, yet a stone's throw from the city centre, this is a fantastic loft style apartment on the fourth floor of a large villa, ideally located to visit the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii, Capri and much more! At your disposal up to two car park spaces in a secure car park accessible via an electric gate. Short flight of stairs or lift to the front door (which is at street level) The view from the terrace is unique and quite simply breathtaking!

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The apartment is in a sought after area of town, just outside the city centre and in an ideal position to explore the surrounding areas. There are only three neighbours and their families in the villa, and the set up offers the right combination of peace and quite without total isolation!

GETTING AROUND

Your own car would make things easier and most of our guests hire one especially in view of the fact that there are up to two secure car park spaces at the property.

My guests often use the services of a trusthworthy driver with a MPV which seats 9 passengers. Excellent rates offering airport transfers and day tours.
