*Work began on a new villa on the neighboring lot in April 2017. All 2017 rates have been reduced by 30% as a special construction discount to offset any possible noise or disruption.
Beach Villa Sandstone has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and is located right on the beach at the quiet western end of Grace Bay, which begins almost at your back door and extends for 12 miles along this world-famous shoreline. This house and prime site used to be known as 'Smith House', but it burned several years ago and the present house was built in 1999. The villa was just renovated again in December 2016! Houses are no longer allowed to be built this close to the beach, but this house was allowed to be rebuilt on the original site right at the sands edge.
Just outside the back door is the famous Smith's Reef, a colorful tropical reef teeming with abundant sea life. Here you can simply wade out from shore and snorkel on one of the best reefs in the country. Note: with the coral reef so close to the shore, a rocky strip exists between the sandy beach and the water in this immediate area, but having various easy access points into the water.
Beach Villa Sandstone is surrounded by a shaded deck. You can relax on your deck and see and hear the waves lap right in front of you. From the deck too, you can watch luxury yachts sail past and see spectacular sunsets in the evenings!
Once you leave this idyllic setting, you will find six restaurants, all within easy walking distance. You can also walk to dive operations, fishing charters, limited shopping, and activities around Turtle Cove, its marina and Yacht Club. Although Beach Villa Sandstone is built right on the beach and only steps from the ocean, it has a beautiful pool for your enjoyment too. The pool is surrounded by spacious decks where you can soak up the sun. There are also shaded areas and an area that's perfect for alfresco dining, while enjoying those magnificent views.
Beach Villa Sandstone has, in typical Caribbean style, a large, open-plan living area, which combines the kitchen, dining room and living room. The living area is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The high ceiling creates a cooling and exceptionally spacious atmosphere. The dining area is just as spacious and offers beautiful views of the pool and the ocean beyond. Beach Villa Sandstone's light and airy kitchen is fully equipped with all modern amenities for your comfort and pleasure.
This beautifully decorated, spacious bedroom has a king sized bed, bathroom, cable TV and patio doors opening onto the deck and affording beautiful views of the ocean. There are two bedrooms on the same level as the living area. All the bedrooms at Beach Villa Sandstone have their own private bathrooms and cable TV. Note: the two bedrooms at beach level have private outside entrances and do not connect to the interior of the upper level.
Bedroom 1 (master) - Second story, king size bed, en-suite bathroom, TV.
Bedroom 2 (master) - Second story, king size bed, en-suite bathroom, TV.
Bedroom 3 - Beach Level, two queen size beds, en-suite bathroom, TV.
Bedroom 4 - Beach Level, two queen size beds, en-suite bathroom, TV.
Nb: With the coral reef so close to the shore, a strip of rock exists between the sandy beach and the water. We suggest wearing water shoes as the rock can sometimes be slippery.
*A cleaning fee of $375 is added to the rental rate.
Note: Guests are given an AC allotment of $150. AC is available throughout the entire villa.
Just outside Beach Villa Sandstone's back door is famous Smith's Reef, a colorful tropical reef teeming with abundant sea life. Here you can simply wade out from shore and snorkel on one of the best reefs in the Turks and Caicos Islands. By the way, the Turks and Caicos Islands have one of the largest coral reef systems in the world!
Week of 03/11/2016 with family of 10.
This website is misleading because it gives you the impression that all 4 bedrooms are part of the main house! For your information, the 2 bottom bedrooms are only accessible from the outside. Can you imagine having small children or even teens and not being able to provide some sort of security for them. Also the only bedrooms that have a view of the ocean are the 2 master bedrooms upstairs. The bottom 2 bedrooms did not have any views at all and felt confined like being in a basement.
Definitely an illussionment of a spacious home when it is a building with 3 separate sleeping areas that each can be rented out separately. The bottom floor had a huge garage/laundry mat in the middle separating the bottom bedrooms which is the first thing you see when you drive up.
The bottom bedrooms did not have ventilation so were stale and smelled of mold. So if you have asthma or allergies you need to have management turn on a/c a day or two ahead. Bathroom upstairs water pressure was very low & 1 master shower has a window in the shower with no privacy. You could be seen from the out side in!!!!!! Also the pictures are dressed up in comparison to reality. We spent the first 2-3 days calling because of issues with toilets, cable reception was bad even though wifi worked fine. Closets did not have enough hangers which is something when no dressers were offered in some rooms. 2 closets shared space with water heaters with holes in ceilings by pipes. Lighting was limited like one lamp for the entire room. After you book the property, they send you a list of do's and don'ts which include you only have so much electricity for your week stay to use & after that you pay additional charges. We could only run the ac in the evenings. Can you imaging going on vacation with a family of 10 & had to keep track of how much electricity used, really. 1 maid service for the week & we had to throw out our own trash daily & recycle but no recycle can offered inside. Had to wash all our own towels daily as towels were limited. No amenities. No salt, pepper, coffee, or sugar provided. Pool is nice but not heated so it was colder than the ocean. They had a security guard in a beat up car every night who stayed in driveway from 9pm till 6pm which made us realize we were not safe. Beach is very rocky and not enjoyable however snorkeling was great which was the only plus. Theresa was helpful. 2 Stars
The location of Sandstone is primo, its in walking distance to lots of restaurants (check out Baci, right on the water) and a great little coffee shop which is surrounded by beautiful palm trees. I have stayed in several locations on Provo and prefer this location (Turtle Cove), its so convenient to everything.
Sandstone is GREAT , its an older property buy very well maintained the layout is nice and open and the deck is enormous. Lots of space. Some of the other villas I have rented don’t have views of the ocean from the 1st floor living area, Sandstone has its living area (kitchen, dining room, living room etc and two of the bedrooms) on the second level so the views are amazing. I love watching the boats go by and to see the color of the ocean change depending on the location of the sun. The water is surreal, it really looks like the photos you see, sometimes you have to rub your eyes to make sure you aren’t dreaming! Can’t wait to come back with my family, we have already booked our trip for next year.
overall, a nice house in a good location. while you need a car, you can walk to a few restaurants and coffee bars. the house itself is spacious, with a wrap around veranda porch, nice pool, and easy access to the beach. The beach itself is rocky, and not as nice as the grace bay beach, but snorkeling is available right here.
the kitchen is well stocked, rooms are spacious, and the area is quiet.
the lower rooms are dark, and don't have wifi, but otherwise come well equipped.
overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
Snuba features a cross between diving and snorkeling. No license required, fully supervised.
We are also walking distance from the local glass bottom submarine which sails from the Marina.
