Originally built in 1865, this stylish, spacious, 1 bedroom, 1 bath 1200 square foot apartment is located on the ground floor of a newly renovated Drugstore. The Apartment was refurbished as a spacious open studio with a King Bed and Queen Delux Air Mattress with all the trimmings to accommodate 4 people.
This spectacular flat has a private entrance and boasts approximately 1200 square feet of living space with 14 foot ceilings. The apartment is tastefully decorated in an eclectic style; a combination of antique and modern furniture with just the right amount of New Orleans funk thrown in.
The apartment has a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen, a large walk in shower with separate dressing area, WI-FI / Internet connection and a 51" HD flat screen TV. Furnishings include a buffet, a dining table that seats four, dressing table, king-size bed, armoire, desk, extremely comfortable leather sofa, love seat and oversize chair and ottoman.
Central air conditioning and four ceiling fans make this space a veritable, breezy oasis for relaxing after jaunts around our beautiful but sometimes humid city.
Even though the apartment is better suited as a two person occupancy, there is plenty of space and a Queen sized Air mattress with furnishings available to provide sleeping accommodations for two more guests.

This neighborhood is a hot spot where locals come the best of everything New Orleans has to offer - great jazz, amazing food, local art & hand-crafted jewelry. It is the point of origin for several Carnival marching parades and local events.
The historic location in the Marigny, just 4 blks from Frenchman St., allows you a glimpse into NOLA's historic past beyond the French Quarter as you marvel at the 19th century architecture that has survived the ages and become home to many writers, painters, artists and musicians. This area boasts the unique architecture and inherent beauty NOLA is known for; vividly painted homes, trendy restaurants, coffee shops and jazz clubs with an amazing mixture of all types of people co-exhisting in this vibrant, diverse, urban setting.

It was great! Close to everything, just a couple of blocks off of Frenchmen St. We didn't have to drive anywhere. We did uber if we went to the Canal Street area, but the Quarter is easily walkable. The unit has everything that you could need. Spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Frankie was really easy to work with. New Orleans is lovely anytime, but especially during the holidays. We will definitely return.
Frankie's place is fantastic. Beyond spacious, clean and three short blocks from the French Quarter. The interior decoration is pure French Quarter (and Frankie). You will not find a better place. Frankie is a quality person. He will meet you upon your arrival, give you a tour of his place and an idea of a what to do in the French Quarter as well as the immediate neighborhood. All VRBO properties should be of this quality. Thank you, Frankie.
My husband and I had a great time in the funky flat! It was within walking distance of anything and everything! The French Quarter is a short walk and Frenchman is right around the corner! Fantastic coffee shops in this area as well! The flat was more than enough room for two people. It had great character and was perfect for a long weekend for two! I definitely recommend this flat to anyone! Frankie showed us around the flat and was extremely accommodating. Some rental owners don't even show up to greet you, but not Frankie!
I lived in the building when I was a student at UNO. With me were two friends, one to become my wife soon after leaving. It was nothing like it is now. I am astounded, and appreciate what has been done to the place. Living there was a highlight of my youth. We would listen to the riverboat calliope on Sunday mornings, emanating from the riverfront. Walking to the quarter and our favorite dives was a cinch. I was in my mid 20's, and times there made it hard not to fall in love.
My wife and I decided on this great place to spend our anniversary trip to NO. Frankie was easy to deal with from the time we booked all the way through the rental. He answered questions quickly and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying his place and our time in NO. Our flight was delayed so Frankie was unable to meet us when we arrived, but had his very nice friend Brian meet us and show us around.
Location is great with easy access to the French Quarter and other parts of the city. Also very close to Frenchmen St. Nice neighborhood, we always felt safe, day or night. If you like to Uber, it costs us about 6-7 bucks to Jackson Square, although you could walk if you desire. (probably 15 minute walk) If you stay here don't forget to check out some of the places down in Bywater. (opposite direction from the Quarter) Delicious Pizza, Elizabeth's, etc.
We really enjoyed the place. Ceiling fans and lighting throughout the place to make it comfortable and light it up nice. The bed was comfortable, along with extra blankets and pillows if needed. 2 closets for clothes and luggage along with the armoire for extra storage. We enjoyed the sound system and constantly had music playing in the background when we were there. We didn't take full advantage of the kitchen but it had all that was needed. We did use the washer/dryer a couple of times and found it to be helpful. The bathroom is great and has the HUGE shower as most people talk about in other reviews. There is a nice big shower head with lots of hot water. My wife enjoyed the dressing table area for getting ready for days and nights out. Plenty of extra supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, tissue, etc.)
As others have mentioned street noise, particularly in the morning is an issue. There was some construction on the sidewalk during our stay, but nothing the owner can do about that. Pack your earplugs and you will be good.
My wife commented over and over how it felt nice to come back to what felt like home for a few days. We highly recommend the place and Frankie. You will have a great time!
Frankie's property is elegant and unique. It is furnished with beautiful antiques and there is artwork by local artisans on every wall. Frankie has attended to every detail to ensure you enjoy your stay. It is close enough to easily enjoy all New Orleans has to offer, but in a quiet, residential neighborhood when you are ready to escape the traffic and noise. We would highly recommend this property, and will stay at one of Frankie's rentals anytime we visit New Orleans.
