My name is Patrizia, my roots are in this land I call magic, as my website. After 32 years of living abroad and then in Milan, I decided one day to come back here, among these wonderful people, simple and hospitable to relive the atmosphere of past times that I have always carried in my heart. A life surrounded by nature, the scent of orange blossoms and flavours, the taste of genuine food. A splendid sea at your doorstep. My partner follows me with much excitement. We bought a farm and other historic homes, we have restructured them and we like to make this land known to other travellers from all over the world by providing our home and show our guests the best tourist itineraries, cultural and gastronomic. This is our best and heartfelt mission.
patrizia purchased this Villa in 2013
Why patrizia chose Surano
I'm sure that people here could really relax, since the house is comfortable, charming, bright, rich of citrus and orange trees. Restored with all modern commodities but paying attention of maintaining all the original characteristics of the typical ancient houses of Salento, which is what people love to find here.
What makes this Villa unique
Open spaces, beautiful view of the countryside, yet in a convenient location in the old town with all the amenities at your fingertips. The locals are warm and simple, the country is simply fantastic with ancient and magnificent olive groves and the sea is just a few kilometres. It’s full of light and sun with the most beautiful shade that you might have: which is the natural tree shade.

We had the absolute best week at the house in Surano! The house itself was perfect - beautifully designed, super comfortable for families and with an amazing set up with the kitchen and outdoor area right next to each other so the kids could play. Patrizia was so helpful all throughout the week as well - helping us with dinner reservations, babysitters and recommending the best beaches for each day. She really made us feel welcome and helped us to get the most out of visiting this incredible corner of Italy. We will definitely be back!!! One of the best holidays we have had for a long time! Thank you Patrizia!!

Mulino Santo Spirito exceeded all our expectations!
We were a family group of eleven people, aged from14 years to 72 years, and we all enjoyed the spacious interior and the pool in the citrus grove.Surano is a delightful, quiet old town. We had a wonderful week’s holiday, visiting both coasts-one sandy, one rocky. We appreciated especially the personal welcome by Patrizia and Roberto, who offered any help we may need during our stay.It was invaluable,as it was our first visit to the area-but hopefully not our last! Highly recommended.
Holiday with friends
We had a great time at the villa. The bedrooms are nicely set out & the pool was well used.
Patrizia & Roberto were very helpful with info for visits.
The region of Puglia is very easy to visit with coast lines very near.
The villa was nicely situated in the village so its easy to shop locally for basics.
Thank you for your welcome review. It was really a pleasure to have you in our home. We hope you can come back to us again in Salento for a next vacation. A warm greeting to you all,
Pat and Robi
Wonderful family meeting at the stunning Holy Spir
We spent a wonderful family vacation at the Mill. It’s a stunning villa, recently renovated, functional, with a great attention to detail and ideally designed spaces for the pleasure of sharing while preserving privacy and tranquility. Surano is a small town very pleasant and centrally located to explore the region of Salento, which has enchanted us for the beauty of the sea, hinterland and villages. Patrizia and Roberto welcomed us with great professionalism, communication has always been excellent and thanks to their advice our vacation was even more beautiful. An experience to recommend totally.
Thank you Pat. I truly enjoyed my stay here and felt you have put together a most exceptional property. I also appreciated your personal attention and help in our requests. I will be happy to be a reference for you on the quality of the property. It would have been nice to get to know you and Roberto better and it is too bad time did not allow that. Do let me know if your travels take you to NY, Seattle or Los Angeles and it may be nice to meet again. I really recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, with beautiful places, rich in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside and a caribbean sea. Again thank you, Best regards, Sara
Surano is a small and ancient village of the 15th century on the bottom part of Salento, approximately 40 km south of Lecce and about 5 km from the crystal clear waters of Castro Marina and the medieval village of Castro, on the Adriatic hillside. It's about 20 km from Otranto, Medieval village of rare beauty and from the Alimini lakes, with beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Surano is a small ancient village, historical, surrounded by a spectacular countryside, the Belvedere Woods with secular oaks and olive trees. Nearby, other small and ancient villages, with small baroque churches, squares and small restaurants. At Surano you can find one of the most typical and most visited trattorias, with a citrus grove underneath the ancient façade of the mother-church. In the central square the great Marchesale palace rises, which still has an olive mill that produces excellent extra virgin oil.
