Overview

About the property

Beautiful and romantic glass fronted boat house on stilts on the shores of loch

Commanding a unique and wonderful position on the shores of Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire, Dipper is a beautiful and romantic boathouse for two on stilts with its feet in the water.

Light and airy with heart stopping views of loch and hills, this highly unique and beautiful holiday home offers accommodation for just two people. One large living space combines sitting, eating, cooking and sleeping in the style of a loft apartment – with a bed platform at one end of the room and a log-burning stove at the other. The spacious bathroom has underfloor heating, a walk-in shower and a bath with perhaps one of the best views in Scotland.

The stunning white Corian surfaced kitchen looks straight out over the loch. And there’s a great little utility room for washing and drying your kit after a day in the outdoors.

So sit on the deck and listen to the gently lapping water as the sun goes down or snuggle up in front of the log-burning stove.

For peace and dreams or perhaps the start of a wee adventure …… Dipper is the perfect romantic hideaway.

About Nina Deakin

We live in Scotland with our two young children and operate a holiday cottage business on the shores of Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands and a ski chalet business in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

Our properties range in style, age and size - they range from boathouses, to renovated farm steadings to alpine chalets, but all have a great sense of homeliness, and beautiful views, as well as lots of little luxuries to help everyone unwind and enjoy their holidays, no matter how old or young they may be!

Why Nina Deakin chose Aberfeldy

Loch Tay is a fantastic location for holidays and there is so much to do in the area, no matter what time of the year. Dipper can be reached in just two hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh and enjoys an unbelievably magical and romantic position on the shores of Loch Tay. Whether you are coming to climb some hills and sightsee in the area or to simply relax in the beautiful boathouse, you can't fail to have a wonderful time in Dipper!

What makes this cottage unique

Loch Tay offers guests numerous opportunities for fishing (from the river shore), climbing (we are located close to a number of Munro mountains including mighty Ben Lawers), boating on the loch, visiting castles, distilleries, golf, and all just on our doorstep! The boathouse itself offers a romantic and peaceful retreat after all of these activities, to relax at the end of the day and enjoy the most wonderful views of Loch Tay.
