Basic functional apartment in excellent location
This is a great place to stay for accessing walks and activities in the Gorge du Tarn and the causse. The apartment itself is on the third floor (narrow stairs) with good views of the town and the river - nice cascading river noises as well. It is very basic - no towels, no bedding, no loo roll provided - and not very attractively furnished (bare light bulbs etc), but it is functional. The owner lives nearby and is very helpful - he provided bedside lights when we asked for them within an hour, and he responds very quickly to texts and phone calls. The kitchen is again very basic but has everything vital, and is quite spacious. The bed is comfy, the windows are new and good quality. Overall, it's a good base but focusses on functionality rather than beauty! Points to note are the lack of bedding/towels etc, the steep steps which would be a problem for those with limited mobility, and lack of parking outside the building - there is plenty of free parking a short walk away, and there is a unloading space close by, but it's in the town with its tiny streets so no parking right there. Good points are its central location and helpful owner (also speaks English).
