About Jacqui Jones

A little about us and and why we chose to buy The Olive House in Neo Chorio (near Polis & Latchi), Cyprus, 10 years ago....

In keeping with the romantic legend of the island, and in particular this area, we fell in love with this unique part of the world when we married locally. Following a wonderful ceremony at the Town Hall in Polis, and a magical blessing at a chapel in Latchi, we set about finding our own special haven in this romantic and stunning location. We found our haven in Neo Chorio, above the hillside overlooking Latchi and the bay of Polis, in southern Cyprus and it is with our pleasure we open our home to you to enjoy and experience this wonderful region for yourself.

Jacqui Jones purchased this villa in 2004

Why Jacqui Jones chose Paphos & Suburbs

Without doubt the exceptional and unique reasons we chose this property are:

1. The View

We’ve tried to describe the view in words and pictures but it’s very, very difficult to do it justice......you’ve really got to see it for yourself!

2. The Location

You have the best of several worlds when staying here! Located in a traditional, unspoilt coastal area of Cyprus where the wonderful hospitality (for which the Cypriots are so renowned) is still actively in evidence. You have the peace and tranquillity of the villa setting; the stone village with character and amenities a short walk away; the beauty & recreational opportunity presented by the Akamas National Park on the doorstep; the beach, watersports & other sporting activities a short drive; and the hustle and bustle of shops, bars, restaurants & other key amenities close but not too close.

In addition to our reasons the other reasons you might choose The Olive House are:

3. The Accommodation

It's stunning! It's a large and spacious villa and great attention has been paid to the design and furnishing with the safety, enjoyment and comfort of guests our priorities.

4. 24/7 Guest Support

We have an excellent property management team that look after the housekeeping of the villa and provide 24/7 support for our guests should they require it. We also offer a 'meet and greet' service shortly after your arrival. This is an optional service but we have had great feedback from guests who have said that it has helped to get their holiday off to a great start!

5. The Price

We offer terrific value for the size, quality, location, facilities amenities and 24/7 support we offer and include in the rental price.

What makes this villa unique

The unique benefits of The Olive House & booking with us....

Location, 'views to die for', quality accommodation, fantastic property management and support, great price.

Unique pastimes...... in the daytime relax by the private pool and appreciate the pretty tranquil setting and the lovely fragrant garden, together with the on hand luxury of the villa.

Appreciate the stunning views and close proximity to the sea. Enjoy a choice of unspoilt and often deserted beaches or dine in the old harbour / marina whenever you choose. Amble into the village to buy fresh bread and produce or enjoy a coffee with the villagers. Wander back home in the evening after a delightful meal and a glass of local beer/wine or two! And when the relaxation becomes too much(!) why not pop on a pair of walking boots and head for the pine forest and hills or explore the sights and culture of the region. Holidaying at The Olive House gives you all this and much, much more.

Unique Guests....The Olive House will very much suit those holidaymakers who are looking for a get-away-from it all stay in luxury surroundings but with the option of opting in and out of the amenities the region has to offer...as and when you want them!! Whether your stay is to relax and chill at the villa in the summer months or you are looking for a more energetic, active holiday whatever the season, The Olive House will be perfect for couples, friends or family holidays and the area offers a little something for everyone,

Unique Owners and Property Support Team......We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your holiday with you and advise you on how to get the most from your stay. We can also guide you to find flights and car hire. Guests also have the added comfort and security of our 24/7 support when staying at The Olive House. Our housekeeping and support team are just a phone call away (mobile phone provided) to ensure our guests have peace of mind and comfort in the knowledge you are in safe hands.

Idyllic

  • 5 of 5

Idyllic stay at the Olive House. Location, the layout and facilities at the villa were as described in the booking information and certainly did not disappoint.

Everything we needed was provided for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Rooms were clean and well maintained with a lovely relaxing upper terrace to take in the view and the outside pool area for soaking up the lovely Cyprus sunshine. Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking a return visit.

A great holiday at a superb house

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at The Olive House. It was well equipped for our needs with all mod cons. The house was very well maintained, clean and tidy. Despite being early in the year when we visited we had great weather and were able to use the garden for sunbathing, and even had a dip in the pool which was very invigorating! We will definitely be visiting again.

Perfect, Peaceful Escape

  • 5 of 5

The Olive House is located on the outer edge of a village called Neo Chorio which is on the Akamas Peninsula (the North West tip of the island). We drove from Paphos airport in the dark but managed to navigate with no problems using the excellent directions provided by the owners. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the freshness and cleanliness of the villa which was spotless throughout. A welcome pack was provided which had some essentials plus a few tasty treats! The villa is large, light and airy with crisp modern decor and a well-equipped modern kitchen. The villa has the bedrooms downstairs which help to keep cooler a night without needing the air con. We were greeted the next day by Andrea of Latchi Luxury Villas. It was wonderful to have somebody with such passion and great local knowledge to give us tips and guidance and to take care of any issues during our stay. The villa is situated in the hills overlooking Chrysochou Bay and we found it to be very peaceful and quiet. The swimming pool was lovely and we used it every day. The village (walking distance) has two Restaurants which are of a more traditional style plus a small shop where you can pick up essentials. A short drive away is the port town of Latchi where there are numerous restaurants, shops, a nice beach, ATM and a lovely harbour area. It is well worth hiring a boat for a trip along the coast to the Blue Lagoon where you can snorkel the reef (we thoroughly enjoyed it despite no previous boating experience!)

Overall we had a fabulous stay in this unspoiled corner of Cyprus and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a more peaceful holiday away from the crowds.

Wonderful villa, beautiful area, excellent holiday

  • 5 of 5

Arriving as we did in pouring rain, to discover that the villa was as wonderful as we had hoped did much to cheer us up. The welcome pack meant we could have a cup of tea and a slice of delicious lemon cake whilst debating whether we needed to go out and buy fleeces and wellies. (We didn't; the weather was fab after a couple of days). The view from the upstairs is just as good as the photos and the villa has all the necessary comforts including the most comfortable beds ever. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and it was immaculately clean and well kept. We spent a lot of time just sat around the pool, relaxing and playing games with the boys but also managed to see a lot of the local area too. Andrea came on day two to make sure we were happy with everything and gave us a lot of valuable information about the local area, eating out etc. The two local tavernas - Smigies and Koupas are very good value and within walking distance. A bit further away in Laatchi, Y&P is good and Los Molos is excellent. If you want to hire a boat, George's Speedboats is a must. Run by his son Alex they are so knowledgeable about the coast and what to see, the briefings they provide are comprehensive without being too technical and it is amazing value for money. It was the best day of our holiday. We look forward to visiting Neo Chorio and The Olive House again.

PERFECT

'A good holiday is one spent among people whose notions of time are vaguer than yours' sums up the relaxed atmosphere of Neo Chorio and the West coast of Cyprus.

The Olive House was 'Perfect' Location/Facilities/View/Pool

Sea view, pool, luxury.

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 2 adults and two teenage boys. We chose this villa after searching for 'sea view, with pool and luxury' and we weren't disappointed. Views from the villa are breathtaking and we made good use of the balcony for our meals for this reason. The villa was spacious and perfectly comfortable (not the sofas so much). We had a really warm week so the pool was perfect for cooling off and the downstairs bedrooms were always cool.

Neo Chorio is pretty and there’s a lot to do in Latchi. We hired a boat for half a day which we'd definitely recommend. We also hired quad bikes from Coral Bay and visited Lara and Turtle Bay, the highlight of the holiday. The main supermarket in Polis has a great meat and fish counter.

Booking couldn’t have been easier and Jackie was really helpful with any advice and questions we had. We don’t like going back to the same place twice but The Olive House might have be an exception.

Polis Chrysochous is one of the, if not the, most beautiful locations in Cyprus. The most well known 'towns' in this area are Polis and Latchi.

The villa is in a truly wonderful location with the village, beach, sea, town and countryside all very close by........

Neo Chorio Village - set in the hillside above the bay, Neo Chorio (1km) is a winding village of stone cottages & white-washed houses. It's maintained its rustic charm with local traditions and customs still in evidence but you will also find 3 lovely traditional tavernas, 2 simple coffee shops & a small but well stocked food store!

The nearest beach is at Latchi (3km) and is just over 5 minutes drive away. The warm clear sea is ideal for swimming and a variety of water sports - including paragliding, scuba diving - and the long stretch of beach is never crowded. You may consider taking a fabulous boat trip to the nearby Blue Lagoon. Swim in the crystal clear waters, or hire a motorboat around the bay - take snorkels and a picnic for a wonderful day out. For the more adventurous, why not try your hand at deep sea fishing or diving - all of this is possible from Latchi.

Polis (8km) is a bustling town (but far from crowds and never busy) just 10 minutes or so drive from the villa. The centre of Polis, with its restored stone buildings, is a paved square and fountain at its heart and is a wonderful spot to sit and watch the world pass by. Polis Beach is a small secluded spot but it's among the cleanest beaches in Cyprus and has been awarded a European 'Blue Flag'.

The Akamas National Park (on the doorstep!)) is a tranquil eco-system of Mediterranean natural beauty. It is an enchanting place to explore and a paradise for the more active holidaymaker to enjoy outdoor pursuits such as walking, hiking, cycling and running! A leisurely walk to the Baths of Aphrodite is just one of the wonderful nature trails you can do directly from The Olive House. The Smigies trail through the pine forest is another one of our favourites!

Notes:
Getting about.......Car hire is not absolutely essential but is very highly recommended for guests staying at The Olive House if you are to get the very best from your holiday. A regular motor car is perfectly adequate for getting from the airport and tripping around the local area but if you want to explore the Akamas by car and visit the excellent off the road beaches this region has to offer then you will require a 4-wheel drive vehicle. You will also need a 4-wheel drive if you plan to visit the mountain villages or go skiing in The Troodos. A local bus services runs between Latchi/ & Polis and a regular bus to Paphos operates from Polis. Taxis are also readily available.
