Close to all that Brixham has to offer and location in the heart of Brixham's conservation area, 3 Captains Rest is an ideal base for exploring the local area and immersing yourself in the local way of life. Stepping outside and you’ll find yourself in the hustle and bustle of the town centre, and a few short steps down the road will see you right at the harbour. Look out for the stunning replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famous galleon The Golden Hind, which welcomes you aboard all year round.

Home to one of Britain’s oldest working fishing ports, Brixham has long been famed for its links to the sea, and now has an up and coming culinary scene to add to its armoury, with an increasing number of independent cafés and delightful restaurants offering ingredients landed just a stones’ throw from their doorstep.

For the walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.

There is nearby on-street parking in this conservation area or alternatively there is the option of a Torbay Council parking permit at the cost of £33 for a week. The nearest eligible car park to the apartment is about 5 minutes away and there is an added benefit of the pass also allowing free car parking across a wide range of Council run car parks in Brixham, Torquay and Paignton. We have only recently 'rediscovered' Brixham. This really pretty and picturesque fishing town has undergone significant investment and we fell in love with the feel and charm of the place. We visit regularly and simply can't get enough of Brixham!!

Why Colin & Sally Reid chose Brixham

We were looking for a holiday home in Brixham and came across this new build property in February 2014. We were immediately struck by the fact that this block of 4 apartments was built in total keeping with the locality having been constructed in traditional Fishermans Cottage style in a conservation area. However, as this is a new-build, the apartments come complete with all modern construction and insulation methods so we get the best of both worlds!

Beautiful

On Arrival the apartment was beautiful. clean and tidy and has everything we needed for a long weekend. Colin and Sally have truly made it a home from home.

The views are stunning and it's great to be within walkin distance for everything you need.

We didn't hear any noise from the neighbours in the below apartments at all which was great.

Will definitely be visiting again and recommending the Captains rest to others.

Thanks for the wine, it went down a treat the first night !

Lovely accommodation, ideal setting in Brixham

We arrived at the accommodation to a lovely welcome card and a bottle of wine. The accommodation was spotlessly clean throughout, very warm and cosy and ideally situated within the lovely town of Brixham. Highly recommended. Thank you for having us.

Situated in a great position for the harbour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Captains Rest, the apartment was beautiful, everything there to make it a 'home from home'. We were able to go to Torquay, Paignton & Dartmouth on the ferries running frequently from the quayside, much more relaxing than using the car! Also close to the High Street for groceries or even closer to the harbour for eating out. Great time was had by all, and would certainly recommend it.

Lovely Cosy Apartment

We had a lovely week and thankfully some lovely weather, Captains Rest is a lovely apartment just a little walk from the harbour. Plenty of exploring to do, hubby enjoyed the fishing (fresh caught Mackrel for breakfast..yum), watching the sealions in the harbour, lovely fresh fish n chips and not forgetting trips with Western Lady Cruises, a wonderful time had by all.

Lovely well equipped apartment near the harbour

This is an immaculate well equipped apartment very near Brixham harbour .

We parked in the central carpark just next door for £35 / week , ticket bought from Brixham harbour Office

On the evening we arrived there was an amazing Firework display on the Quay which we watched out of the windows.

The apartment is situated on the top floor of the appartment block so there are several flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment so are hard going if you have arthritis like me.

The only problem we had was being so near the harbour were extremely noisy seagulls and the sound of traffic which started at 3am every morning....Brixham is a working fishing port & we did enjoy eating all that fish ! ,we can recommend Rockfish & the Poopdeck as sea food restaurants & the best fish & chips from Rio's near the harbour.

Among other places we loved the Dartmouth to Totnes river cruise , Cockington Manor &

Berry Head also Food shopping at Churton farm shop .Thank you Sally & Colin for the use of your apartment !!
