About the property

Luxury house in Courtyard developement.

The accommodation comprises of an entrance vestibule leading through to the utility/laundry room with storage for golf clubs and other equipment. This leads into the main hallway where information leaflets are displayed and a telephone is situated. Off the hallway,there are three well appointed twin bedded rooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other two bedrooms sharing a shower room. There is an attractive mural of Scotland's most famous poet Robert Burns painted onto the wall half way up the stairs leading to the upstairs lounge/dining room, kitchen and en-suite bedroom. For the convenience of the guests there is a security camera/door entry system with visual screen and telephone.


Lounge / Dining Room

Superb lounge with panoramic views of the Old Course and patio doors to the viewing veranda. This room has very comfortable seating arrangements, a reproduction oak centre table, television and video. The spacious dining area off the lounge has two windows to the north overlooking the Old Course. The dining table, ten chairs, dresser and serving table are made from reproduction oak and are complemented with crystal chandeliers in both areas of the room. Ideal for eating in if guests wish to relax in the comfortable surroundings. The room is accessed from the top landing and has a connecting door through to the kitchen.


Fully fitted modern antique pine kitchen with fridge, electric hob, extractor, double oven, dishwasher and microwave oven. Doulton crockery for 12 place settings and crystal glasses.

Utility Room - With washing machine and freezer.

Storage Room

Large cupboard for storing golf clubs, outdoors shoes, etc.

Swilken View has 4 twin bedded rooms, all individually styled but all sharing the highest quality standards. The highest quality pure cotton bed linen and luxurious towels are provided for the comfort of our guests. There is ample storage space throughout all of the bedrooms for your clothing and accessories.


Master Bedroom (En-suite)

The Master Bedroom enjoys spectacular views over St Andrews Old Course. It has a beautiful en-suite shower room. This twin bedded room consists of a double wardrobe, bedside cabinets, dressing table, chairs, and occasional tables with ornate lamps.

Attractive south facing twin bedded room with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, wall lights and table lamp.

Attractive west facing twin bedded room with antique walnut beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet.

Twin bedded room, also with spectacular views of the Old Course. Attractively decorated modern en-suite shower room with electric shower, w.c. and vanity sink with shaver point.

About Mr J Russell Taylor

I currently live in Perthshire and have done all my life. I farm in partnership with my wife Nancy. The farm is an arable farm and we also have a pedigree herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle of which I was past President of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society for the UK from February 2013 to February 2014. I have also been Director of the Royal Highland Show.

St Andrews is a place that has always appealed to me and this property was bought originally by my father and will hopefully be keep in my family as opportunities to purchase such a property in such a prime location are very rare indeed.

What makes this house unique

This property was bought because of its unique situation,there are only a few other properties in St Andrews with such a spectacular view. It is a spacious house and easily accommodates 8 people, with plenty of space for storing golf clubs


It is within easy walking distance of St Andrews town centre, with its many excellent restaurants, theatre, cinema, golf courses, walks on the spectacular West Sands beach. It is a very relaxing and tranquil situation.

What a fantastic place to stay

The position cannot be beaten, Golf Sat Nav says 100 yds to the centre of the 17th green and thats from the sitting room! A lovely property which has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The full Sky package is a real bonus too. Russell was a pleasure to deal with and special thanks to his son in-law for sorting the minor issue with the heating.

We hope to return one day.

Great outlook over the golf links and very comfortable house

This is our second visit and we Stayed 4 nights with family. Perfect location for golf and wonderful view over St. Andrews links and west sands. Accommodation is very comfortable.

We hope to come back.

Words are not enough!

From the very first contact to leaving after a week everything is just amazing. We blame our selves for not understanding how to get som heat in the house (how hard can it be) We will give it a new try 2015 and hope for less rain so we don´t need it :) Clean, spacious and inviting this house offers everything you need for a fantastic stay in St Andrews. How ever i wouldn´t recommend it, then it might be taken the next time i want to book it... Jokes aside it´s fantastic and we will be back, same week next year and the year after that!

Fantastic house with everything you could ask for. Central position within a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants and beach, Had a great long weekend in Swilken View and hope to return again soon. Excellent, highly recommended.

Wow!!! Great house and a fab view!!

If you want a house that is clean, spacious, well presented, and with the most spectacular views then this is the house for you.

The owner was an absolute pleasure to deal with and could not do enough to assist in the organising of our trip.

The overall layout of the house is great for a golfing party as each room can be configured as a twin and there are easily enough bath/showers for a party of 8.

The kitchen was great with everything you could possibly need.

There is great WiFi coverage and the fully Sky package is nice if having a chill in the house.

That was all great and made it a lovely house.......then came the location..........

Firstly it is less than a 5 minute walk to the town centre.

Then there is the view from the entire living room. The photos on the website almost don't do it justice. I was sceptical before arriving that it was going to be anywhere near that, but it was much, much better. You get a panoramic view of the 17th hole, including the green, 1st green and the 18th tee of the most famous golf course in the world. It really does have to be experienced and if you get a chance my advice would be to stay at Swilken View!!
