Successfully mixing modern comfort with old fashioned charm, the domaine of Boussaguel welcomes you to an idyllic, peaceful setting, whilst remaining close to the main tourist sites of the Dordogne.

Organised in three distinctly separate houses, the domaine of Boussaguel is ideal for two families travelling together, who wish to retain their privacy.

The Old Barn - 3 bedrooms (sleeping 6/8)/ 2 bathrooms

This imposing building, built in the honey coloured stone typical of the region, is set on two floors:

On the ground floor:

* a lovely terrace opens into a separate kitchen, extremely well equipped: two fridges, separate freezer, four ring gas hob, dishwasher, integrated deep fat fryer, huge work surface.......

* The huge dining room is impressive with its 4m high ceiling! It has a large solid wooden dining table with 10 chairs, and a dresser.

* A small step leads to the lounge, where armchairs and coffee table are set around the magnificent open fireplace. A sofa bed can accomodate two extra guests.

* The other side of the dining room, you will find a small, but functional shower room, with shower, washbasin and toilet.

On the first floor:

The bedrooms are organised in two separate parts of the house.

* A staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor, where there are two spacious bedrooms, each with a double bed (140cm wide), bedside tables, wardrobes. Both have a lovely view over the garden.

* A second staircase leads from the kitchen to a third bedroom set on a mezzanine. It benefits from its own private bathroom, with bath, washbasin and toilet.

Situated at 30m from the Barn, the Watchman's House, offers another charming independent gite for 6 people.

Organised on three levels, the house offers:

* On the ground floor: a spacious living room with wooden floor, beams and exposed stone walls, along with an open fireplace. It has a dining area, and a fully equipped corner kitchen with cooker, microwave, small fridge, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. A sitting area has ratan furniture for relaxing.

* On the first floor, the master bedroom offers a double bed (140cm), bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The view over the surrounding countryside is quite simply breathtaking!

It has a private spacious bathroom, with bath, washbasin, and toilet.

* On the garden level, the family bedroom offers a double bed (140cm), and a single bed (90cm), bedside tables, a cot and a wardrobe.

* A separate room, serving as an antechamber, and offering direct access to the garden, has a single bed ideal for an extra child.

The bedroom also has a bathroom with bath, washbasin, toilet and washing machine.

THE COTTAGE:

This little house is ideal for a couple seeking for privacy

It offers:

* an open plan dining area and small fitted kitchen

* a separate large bedroom with a double bed, bed side tables, dressing

* a small shower room with a shower and a washbasin

* sep toilets

THE EXTERIOR

Despite the fact that the houses are particularly comfortable, it is most certainly outside that you will appreciate the best of the Domaine de Boussaguel, a veritable haven of peace, set in the middle of 3 hectares!

* The huge garden is comprised of prairies and woodlands as far as the eye can see, and is the perfect playground for children!

All year round you can taste the delights of the orchard: apples, peaches, figs and grapes..... all you need to make some delicious desserts!

* The large pool, 10m x 5m, is set in full sun, and guarantees you hours of bathing and relaxing. It is equipped with sun loungers and parasols. Its pool house has a shower and toilet and is particularly functional.

* A superb summer kitchen, fully equipped and offering a large terrace with garden tables and chairs: the perfect spot for leisurely meals - lunches in the shade of the midday sun, whilst admiring the panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.

In mid season, a possibility to rent just the Barn, for 2 to 6 guests, at a reduced rate, whilst keeping exclusive use of the pool and garden.

In summer months priority is given to the rental of the total property.

The third building seen on the arial photos, is never let or occupied during rentals.

Super séjour !

Nous étions 3 familles qui avons beaucoup apprécié la vie au domaine de Boussaguel! Le site est magnifique! Nous avons surtout vecu dehors, la cuisine d été auprès de la piscine est idéale! Chaque famille avait son indépendance, et le jour de pluie nous nous sommes regroupés pour les repas à la grange, Avec sa grande tablée!

L agence qui gère les locations est également très prévenante et à l écoute.

Un petit coin de paradis

Pour tous ceux qui aiment la campagne, les vieilles pierres et le calme c'est l'endroit idéal.

Les maisons sont bien aménagées, il n'y manque rien, le cadre est génial, une vue spendide sur la vallée.

Situation parfaite pour visiter, proche de la vallée des 5 châteaux, Lascaux, les Eyzies et Sarlat, canoé sur la Dordogne, à 5 kms.

En bref nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

Only 2 miles away are the quiet villages of Siorac en Périgord with its 18 hole golf course and the medieval village of Saint-Cyprien, hosting a weekly market on the sunday morning. The picturesque Dordogne river, which passes close by , allows for lazy afternoons sunbathing, swimming, fishing and canoeing. Other activities within easy reach are horse-riding, tennis, golf and cycle hire. Sightseeing opportunities are endless with many surrounding medieval towns and villages, chateaux and prehistoric caves to explore.
