The house was perfect for our family gathering. Plenty of room for 11 of us. Very clean and well maintained. A great base for us to stay and explore the forest. Will definitely come again.
A great base for a multi-family catch up
Once again our now annual weekend here to catch up with friends was a great success. A lovely house with plenty of exploring for the kids and a good base for touring the New Forest.
Great venue for a family get together
Oakhurst is a superb family home that suits a multi-generational family away weekend perfectly. We were blessed with very warm and sunny Easter weather so could take full advantage of the tennis court (mainly as a scooter enclosure for toddlers!), garden and even sat out with a bbq well into the evening. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and two big ovens enabled us to do a traditional Easter roast as well. Everyone reported comfortable beds and a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended!
60th Birthday Celebrations
A wonderful family weekend celebrating a 60th birthday - this beautiful house accommodated all the family with all our varied 'wants and needs'. All so easy to organise and lots to do with the New Forest and sea so close.
We just stayed here for 2 nights and it was wonderful. The house had everything possibly needed, including a cot and highchairs! Beds were very comfortable and the house itself was very clean. Would definitely stay again! Thank you.
Lots of space, great location
We've been coming here every year for the past 8 years and will be coming again next year. A great house, well equipped, plenty of space and a large garden. Suits family gatherings perfectly. Tennis court and snooker table are a big hit!
Oakhurst is located about half a mile south of Marchwood on the road to Hythe. It is on the eastern fringe of the New Forest and within the new National Park. You can walk to Hythe, where there is a regular ferry service to Southampton, along a country lane and a public footpath via Hythe marina. Hythe and Marchwood have numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and local amenities. The New Forest has obvious attractions such as the ponies and the picturesque village of Beaulieu which is about 5 miles away. Southampton is a major city and port with several new shopping centres and a Premier League football team.
