Yew Tree is a luxurious wooden clad river cottage on the shores of the River Lochay in the Highlands of Scotland. Newly built in 2015, the property sleeps four people comfortably in one king ensuite bedroom and one twin ensuite bedroom. The property is kept warm by the luxurious underfloor heating throughout the property and the cottage boasts wonderful views from the floor to ceiling glass windows over the river towards the golf course. Yew Tree is characterised by a beautiful vaulted ceiling over the spacious living room which give a wonderful feeling of space and light.
Outside is a patio area looking over the garden and river with private hot tub, operational all year round for our guests to relax after a day on the hills.
As well as being equipped with all the mod cons including TVs in the living room and bedrooms there is also a Dvd player, wifi and a selection of books and films to choose from and the cottage is within a minute on foot of the village inn and local golf club.
We live in Scotland with our two young children and operate a holiday cottage business on the shores of Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands and a ski chalet business in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Our properties range in style, age and size - they range from renovated farm steadings to alpine chalets, but all have a great sense of homeliness, and beautiful views, as well as lots of little luxuries to help everyone unwind and enjoy their holidays, no matter how old or young they may be!
Nina Deakin purchased this cottage in 2014
Loch Tay is a fantastic location for holidays and there is so much to do in the area, no matter what time of the year. Yew Tree can be reached in just two hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh and enjoys a perfect position on the River Lochay on the outskirts of Killin. Whilst designing and building this property, we have tried to create a luxurious and spacious feel to the house which benefits from all the modern conveniences including underfloor heating, floor to ceiling windows boasting fantastic views and a bubbling hot tub outside. In addition, the property is located conveniently close to the local amenities of Killin, including some lovely local shops, bars and restaurants as well as a nine hole golf course, which are all within walking distance of the property.
Loch Tay offers guests numerous opportunities for fishing (from the river shore), climbing (we are located close to a number of Munro mountains including mighty Ben Lawers), boating on the loch, visiting castles, distilleries, golf, and all just on our doorstep! The house itself offers a spacious, homely and peaceful retreat after all of these activities, to relax at the end of the day with a well deserved glass of wine in the garden or the bubbling hot tub.
Situated on the outskirts of Killin, Yew Tree is within an hour and a half from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The area is rich in history, wildlife, activities and attractions, with water sports, hill walking, mountain biking, fishing, golf courses, castles and distilleries on the doorstep!
