Craftsman Style Historic Springfield Home
Why Fab chose Urban Core
This is a historical home with a lot of character and contemporary design since the entire interior has been newly remodeled with all new finishings and upgrades.

This house was great for meeting our needs. Fab is wonderful with communicating and checking on guests. The house itself was wonderful with its spacious kitchen and living room area. We enjoyed the comfort of the beds the most! I would highly recommend this house to others who are seeking a place to stay while in Jacksonville, FL. The surrounding neighborhood is just like any other, if you are nice then people will be nice back. I personally felt comfortable going for a jog around the neighborhood.
Jawoin was a great guest. Very nice and pleasant to communicate with, and he was very respectful of my basic house rules. My cleaners also had no complaints, which is sometimes the case because some guests can be very messy, but Jawoin and his group treated my house well and cleaned up after themselves. I'd be glad to host him again anything he's in Jacksonville.
First and foremost, the original pictures of the home were beautiful - displaying a cozy, comfortable home with lush furnishings and very clean inside and out; however, this is not what we were met with upon arrival and we quickly deducted the home was staged for pictures - my family and I stayed at this rental from December 22-27, 2018 and were VERY DISAPPOINTED!
First Impression of the Outside: the home is a historical home in an older neighborhood - some of the homes are renovated and some are not - THIS HOME IS NOT. Also, this home is too close to "the hood" for my taste. The back yard, which is open from a side street for parking, had trash, debris and broken glass all over the parking area, the trash bins were running over with trash, the side/front yard had debris and overgrown shrubbery. The front porch had wooden boards and metal rods laying on the floor of the porch and all of the windows were just filthy.
First Impression of the Inside: The kitchen is updated nicely, BUT THAT IS ALL THAT IS UPDATED. The master bath was updated somewhat but at closer look it appears the owner went to the corner liquor store and hired Ray Ray, who was leaning against the store drinking his spirits from a paper bag, to do the renovation. There only two televisions in the house - one in the living room and one in the master - neither TV had a DVD player, you could not watch more than about ten channels on either TV, my daughter was upset there were not any cartoon channels available and the TV's kept going out and we had to unplug this and that, jiggle this cord and that cord. All of the furniture in the house is cheaply made and very uncomfortable - the owner would have been better off going to Big Lots to purchase furniture. The first night of our stay, the bed slats broke on one of the beds but it was replaced the next day with another cheaply made bed. The only chairs in the house are the six chairs around the kitchen table - not ideal for Christmas dinner with family. No chairs on the front porch, no chairs on the upstairs balcony.
I text the owner, Fab/Fabiola, several times throughout our stay advising her of all of the issues because I did not want her to think we made the mess. I never saw the owner not one time.
We were very uncomfortable in this house our entire stay and to be quite honest, I felt dirty the entire stay - couldn't wait to get home!
Hi, I take all reviews seriously whether good or bad and want to respond accordingly. The tone and language of this review lacks maturity and professionalism, which makes it obvious the type of guest that I had to experience. So while I won't stoop low and address the negative colloquialisms used, I will address some of the negative energy in this post.
Ultimately, the review is a sharp contrast to all other reviews that I've received across all of my short term rental sites like Airbnb, so much so that it sounds like 2 different properties. So I implore prospective guests reading this review to read actual reviews from valid guests on our listing by searching Casa Paradiso. Because quite frankly, this isn't a valid review from a guest that had good intentions. This guest stayed an entire week without ever complaining to VRBO about any issues, but as soon as they checked out, they contacted VRBO about refunding their 7 day stay, which was obviously rejected by VRBO for being outrageous and unfair.
While all guests are different and some are more easy going than others, as you can see from this guest's language, this guest intended on being disruptive. I'm not quite sure if it's a lack of travel experience or basic manners, but this was definitely a unique guest for us, and I'll kindly leave it at that.
Also, it's public records the extent and the amount of year-long renovations done to this property based on all of the building permits that are publicly available on this property. So this guest's opinions are also invalid and disrespectful.
I will acknowledge that the slats on the bed did break when the guest slept on it. Every piece of furniture in the house is brand new (purchased within the past 3 months), and Wayfair immediately refunded the cost of the bed and recognized it as a manufacturer's defect. So the bed issue was immediately cured with a brand new bed that was purchased and installed during the guest's stay. That's a true picture of how immediate my response was to this guest.
