The house was lovely. Very clean, cute, and peaceful. We all loved the quirky decorations. Axel was very prompt in returning emails and was very professional. Me and my friends want to rent this place again for a girl's weekend! It's so close to downtown Guilford! It's awesome!

Easy and quick communication. Spacious house with clean linens and towels. Guilford is such a lovely town with a couple of coffee shops in walking distance and the shore is a quick jog away.

Lovely home--beautifully decorated and charming. We especially loved having breakfast on the sunny porch. We spent the weekend there with family who had come into town for a memorial service and it was a comfortable and welcoming space. Great location near a cute little town and access to local beaches. Only suggestion would be to leave more supplies such as toilet paper and garbage bags. With 8 people, it just wasn't enough and we had to go to the store almost immediately.

I am sorry about the garbage bags and toliet paper. We ususally leave enough for Guest to start with.

What a lovely house! Plenty of room to spread out, all the comforts of home. Located on a quiet side street, within walking distance of some really nice restaurants. We were very happy with our stay.

We rented /Yvette's "Artist Owned" house in Guilford for out of town wedding guests and the location was great. Folks could walk to the town green in the morning to get coffee or go for a stroll along the marshes. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies, which was a great benefit since our guests did a lot of cooking from the house. You'll need to pack specialty cooking items but the basics are there. The deck in back was a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the morning and afternoon sun and to eat meals. Kitchen and porch were the real selling points of this house.

This property was perfectly situated As we had a wedding in Branford and did not want to pay for three hotel rooms! It is well located, only a few minutes walk to the town center in Guilford. There was plenty of room for 5 adults, wifi certainly appreciated. We spent some lovely mornings and evenings on the enjoyed our visit very much.

About Yvette Fournier

Mother, Grandmother, wife, sister, friend,....Creative Spirit..Founder of Spaces of the Heart. This house has allowed me to keep building a Healing Art Center in Old Saybrook, Ct..Today would be Jason's 41st Birthday, Tragically his life was cut short almost 18 years ago. The loss of Jason was so devasting for me. I could hear Jason say, Mom just paint. I painted, I went back to Maui alone, I had to Heal from one of the most horrific times of my life. On the same day, two years later my Mother would die..I went back to Maui, where I had lived the last few months with Jason.I have never told the story, of the reason this house is all part of Spaces of the Heart. Please go to Spaces of the Heart....Love houses and finding treasures...This is my 10th year renting this home. Love to hear that people had a great time and enjoyed the space .I was born in Franklin, Ct and have had the opportunity to live in many amazing places on this planet. I seem to keep coming back to the Shoreline of Ct...Yvette 203-444-4477

Why Yvette Fournier chose Guilford

This property is a very good value for 8 people....The proximity to town, the Beaches, Yale and the center of Guilford is perfect. The house has a large deck and fireplace.

Beaches are a 5 minute drive.

Three years ago, our area was hit by Hurricane Sandy, house our being rebuilt on the street. A sub station which is not active is being taken down. Within the last few weeks all the tree were removed from around the station, so right now it does not look very attractive. This should not ruin your stay. But, I wanted to let you know...

What makes this house unique

Walk to town...Dead end street, fireplace, huge deck, beautiful chesnut wide board floors, Price is right.

For one person to rent a room in a Hotel in Guilford, the price is $160. I feel the prices are very fair for 8 people..

Guestbook comments from the manager

The home was perfect for our group!! We loved staying here. Everyone slept super well and we enjoyed hanging out in the common spaces of the house and on the porch when we were home. Guilford is a super cute little town, and the location is super convenient to exploring the greater surrounding area.

We spent a week here in July/August 2007, there were 7 adults, 4 young kids, and 2 dogs. While we were a bit of a squeeze with our numbers, we were extremely happy with the house. The location was superb--5 minute drive from town beach, 15 minute drive from Hammonnasset State Beach, 5 minute walk to charming town center. We cooked on the grill every night. At the end of the street is a super nice family with a 6 year old boy; if you have young kids he'll find you and is fun to play with! Nice touche: the free wireless internet/phone. Only (minor) drawback: lots of mosquitoes, so bring your bug spray. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great Stay!

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean and had everything we needed. The location was great, you can walk into the town and shops. Very comfortable, would have been nice to use the fireplace, but we didn't want to have to clean out the ashes. The porch was nice and big and would be lovely in the summer. Would stay here again!

Uncomfortable.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feed back. The hot water issue was resolved. If anyone would have called me to let me know they were not cool enough with 5 air condtioners, I would have put another one where you felt it was too warm. The houses are rented back to back. I am sorry you had an issue with the home and would gladly welcome you back with three nights free....Thank you, Yvette

Cozy, comfortable, perfect for our mini reunion.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay so very much! The layout of the house was perfect for our mini family reunion. We found it clean and well maintained. There were two bedrooms and one bath on each floor, which made the accommodations most convenient. There was some delightful artwork throughout the house. We were so pleased with the huge lawn, and the back porch overlooking it where we could have breakfast. There was also an eat-in kitchen which was large enough for us five, plus two additional people over the weekend. The kitchen was well -stocked with dining utensils, plus large and small appliances. We enjoyed sitting around the living room table playing cards in the evening. The house is located just a couple of blocks from the enchanting center of Guilford, and we walked by the beautiful old houses on our way there many times. We also spent many hours walking around the many charming streets of the town with its numerous historic houses, and also enjoying some delightful restaurants in the area. In summary, we would love to go back again.

The only downside, but this did not spoil our stay, was that after turning off of the main road and reaching our house, only a couple of doors down from the main road, the atmosphere of the street changed to one of some not so well kept houses. But there was no reason to walk in that direction as it was a deadend to the marsh.

Thanksgiving in CT

  • 5 of 5

So that we can maximize the family time together, I have rented a home in CT for several holidays. Instead of a few hours we get days of family fun. It has been possible because of Yvette's homes. There are enough rooms and bathrooms that the family can stay and play together. The house felt very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had enough cooking utensils so that I could make and serve Thanksgiving dinner and continue family traditions. We had a cozy fire in the living room fireplace. In the four separate occasions that I have rented one of her properties over the past three years, the owner has been wonderful and has made every effort to make our stay work well.
