Gabelot Cottage is ideal for a family or for 2 couples and is a newly renovated rustic old stone house tastefully decorated with period furniture. It boasts a large outdoor swimming pool, sunbathing terraces, eating terrace with traditional stone grill, a multifunctional children's playground, outdoor table tennis and bowling alley, outdoor shower, and a large garden planted with olive trees and Dalmatian shrubs, all set in a beautiful and quiet area just outside Supetar, the main town on Brac. The views from the house are of the surrounding olive groves and vineyards, creating a perfectly peaceful and natural holiday experience. Yet the amenties of the town, with its night life, many restaurants and cafebars, and tourist and grocery and shops is just 1.5 km away, which makes this a very well placed property. And the nearest town beach is 800 meters away, with the quieter country beaches also just a short drive away.
The villa consists of an open plan living, dining, kitchen room with traditional fireplace. Off the living area is one double bedroom and the shower room. The second triple bedroom with double bed plus single bed is in a large attic room with wonderful views out over the countryside around.
Days and evenings can be spent enjoying the pool, sunbathing, using the play grounds and grilling fresh meat and fish on the stone grill on the terrace. Fresh vegetables and fruit and local olive oil and wine can be bought in the open air market in Supetar. But if you want to go further afield there is all Brac to explore, with its quaint old stone villages, each with a village square and church, and cafes and restaurants. Skrip is the oldest settlement on the island and there is olive oil product tasting there. There is a great fish restaurant in Splitska just a 10 minute drive away. Likewise a good meat restaurant also a 10 min drive away.
In Sutivan, a 10 minute drive away, is a sports activity centre that offers mountain bike tours, rock climbing, wind surfing, sailing lessons. And in Supetar is a scuba diving centre also.
Getting to Brac: Take the 45 minute car ferry from Split harbour. Split harbour is 20 kilometres from Split airport. The crossing takes about 45 minutes. The cost per person is approx 5 Euro.
Getting to the Property: Dalmatian Property Management office in Supetar will supply photo directions on how to get to the property, the keys of the property and all information’s about region, supermarkets, restaurants and cultural events you might visit during your stay. In a case you need anything else DPM personnel will be happy to help and at your service throughout your stay in one of the properties we manage.
Come in the high season of July and August and you’ll find Supetar vibrant with life with holidaymakers from all over Europe. Eat out at a different restaurant each evening and sample the friendly bars and cafes of the town. Or, just 45 minutes from Supetar by car, you can visit beautiful beach resort named Bol, very famous for its beach phenomenon called Zlatni Rat. Alternatively take a 45-minute ferry ride to Split and wander through the 1700 year old alleyways of the Diocleceans Palace, do some designer brand name shopping, or just promenade along the elegant palm tree lined Riva eating an ice cream! For a quiet holiday come in June or September. If walking is your thing, there’s plenty of lovely coastal and inland walks with many beautiful old stone villages to explore.
