Nice cottage - as described - clean & tidy

  • 3 of 5

Overall it was good and we enjoyed it, however things could have been a lot better.

We found the cottage to be very damp, our clothes, towels etc. all were damp to the touch even our breakfast cereal was affected! (damp Shredded Wheat - yuk!) The heating was controlled by owners so we had no way to dry the place out.

There was a complete lack of local information available, where to buy groceries, where to walk etc. etc.

There was no contact at all with owners which we found odd, it would have been nice for them to say 'hello' and check all was ok.

Overall I would give it a 7 out of 10

Owner's Response: Thank you for the 7 out of 10 review for Scots Cottage and we are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay. All comments have been fedback to the owner for appropriate action. She will review her arrival / information pack to ensure up to date details of local amenities, walks and activities are included. Whilst the heating programme is controlled by the owner there is a thermostat in the cottage to regulate the heating. Again we will ensure this is made clear for holidaymakers. Owners tend not to disturb holidaymakers during their stay as most live away from their property. We do however ensure that owners contact details are available together with ours as booking agents for any emergency contact requirements. Again, thank you for the review.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be lovely. The Cottage is everything you want and need from a rural gem. Location is superb with plenty of walks on your doorstep. Two nearby pubs that serve fabulous food. A bakery and the Sea Shanty that does great coffee.

Can't recommend this place enough.
