Set in a tranquil and mountainous backdrop on this stunning Polaris World 5* golf resort. Our apartment is contemporary in style and furnished to an extremely high standard. It is in an excellent location directly overlooking the third fairway and beyond down down across the main Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort and the serene Murcia countryside. An external garden area laid in Thermowood Decking and inclusive of a 4 seat Ratten garden set with parasol & chairs for alfresco dining is only steps away from one of 19 communal swimming pools on the resort. Garden facilities also include sun loungers and barbecue. This apartment is perfect for summer and winter holidays and you certainly do not have to be a golfer to enjoy staying here. The master bedroom comprises twin beds (mattresses can be zipped together to form a double bed), fitted wardrobe, bedside cabinet, full length mirror and hair-dryer. Bedroom 2 has twin beds (can also form a double bed as per the master bedroom), fitted wardrobe and bedside cabinet.

The lounge/dining room has a stylish leather corner sofa and matching armchair, dining table with seating for four. Coast/Beach: The Costa Calida has a stunning Mediterranean coastline with an average temperature of 21c and 320 days of sunshine a year. Our Apartment is a 20 minute drive to the Mediterranean coast and to the Mar Menor, (Europe's largest salt water lagoon with more than 170km2 lukewarm water), flanked by numerous sandy beaches and long promenades to stroll along. The shallow waters and warm winds of the Mar Menor make it ideal for sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, diving, windsurfing and kite boarding. Los Alcazares has many restaurants, bars and play areas 25 mins away. Murcia is fantastic for walking, cycling, golf, hiking, mountain bike cycling and horse riding. Cartagena harbour/town full of history and beauty - 35 min. New, exciting water park in Aquapolis in Torrevieja - 45 min. A local shopping complex called 'Dos Mares' with an enormous supermarket, many restaurants and a cinema is 30 minutes' drive away. Murcia the capital and two large shopping complexes and a new water / safari park are also 30 minutes away.

Costa Calida & Murcia: The Costa Calida is situated in the south east of Spain. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south lies the Costa de Almeria. Translating as the 'Warm Coast' Costa Calida forms the coastline of the Murcia region. Well known for its mild climate, it enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year, more than any other in region in Spain. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Winters are typically very mild with averages hovering around 18°C (64°F). The Costa Calida/Murcia area is reputed to have one of the most pleasant climates in the world - according to the World Health Organisation. There are so many reasons for coming to this area and many people who come as holiday makers eventually return to live here. The Murcia region is one of Spain's & Europe's best kept secrets. An unspoilt area with 250km of beaches along the shores of 2 seas: the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. Due to Murcia’s mini micro climate it is recommended for asthma and joint problems. The region is noted for its contrasts; from its rich diverse coastline with its areas of dunes, salt flats, gentle coves, areas of rough water to mountainous national parks.

The marine reserve at Homigas Islands near Cabo de Palos, is acknowledged by diving enthusiasts as one of the best scuba dive sites in Spain. Cabo de Palos is famous for its lighthouse and is situated at the mainland entrance to the La Manga strip. On Sundays there is a market where local produce and bargains can be found.

The historical port of Cartagena was founded in 227BC by the Carthaginians and due to its location has always been a major port. The city contains a mixture of old and new, including a Roman amphitheatre, which was only discovered in 1987, as well as many other archaeological treasures. You can take a boat from the port to explore parts of the coast unseen from the land.

Golf

The course at Hacienda Riquelme is a Jack Nicklaus Design and is the largest offered by Polaris World. This superb 18 hole, par 72 golf course has approximately 6300 meters from the farthest tee and forms part of the challenging Nicklaus golf trail (9 Jack Nicklaus Designed courses when completed). The fairways of the golf course are surrounded by olive trees, fields of wild flowers and 5 lakes. Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort offers many facilities in the area of golf such as a club house, pro-shop and driving range. As a guest at the resort you will have full access to the facilities and golf courses at the other Polaris World resorts at La Torre and El Valle all of which are within easy reach (free shuttle bus available). Special offers and rates are provided to all residents throughout all the courses. The choice of other golf courses locally are also numerous and varied with the Peraleja Golf course, designed by Severiano Ballesteros, next door and La Manga.

Balneario de Archena - On the banks of the clean water and rich river Segura, we find the Balneario de Archena. This is an ideal destination for a healthy treatment. The centre which has sources of rich mineral water with temperature of 52 °C is specialized in the treatment of respiratory problems and skin and rheumatic diseases.

Balneario de Fortuna - The salt-rich waters of the Balneario de Fortuna spring with a temperature of 53 °C and are particularly effective for the treatment of asthma, rheumatism, colds and allergies, and gynecological disorders. The baths were already used by the Moors and the Romans and are housed in modern facilities. There are three hotels with direct access to the spa, an outdoor pool with hot spring water, ideal for cold winter mornings.

Lo Pagán and healing mud baths - The route begins along the Mar Menor in Lo Pagán, a village two kilometres from San Pedro del Pinatar where the best open-air mud baths in Europe are situated.

I was introduced to the region of Spain in 2004 and was very impressed with the area. It is really easy to get to, has sympathetic low density development in a beautiful rural conservation area and in the Mar Menor has a unique micro climate with well over 300 days of sunshine per year. Murcia is also rich in Spanish culture as evidenced by the traditional nearby town of Sucina which includes plenty of quality restaurants and bars. Murcia is also an up and coming region and is destined to become the Leisure Centre of Spain with the construction of Paramount Theme Parke in Alhama de Murcia, the largest biggest theme park in Spain.

This corner ground floor apartment has a stunning front line location with views across the fairway to the 3rd hole and looks down onto the stunning 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Championship Golf Course. Lovely apparent, highly recommended

Lovely well kept and presented apartment in one of the best positions on the estate. Everything you need for a great holiday is there with the bonus of being 10 m from a lovely quiet pool. Sean the owner and Karen from the managemt company are to be complimented on being so helpful and accommodating.

Excellent apartment. Very clean and comfortable in a good location.

Golf course and practise facilities are very good. 15 minutes from Murcia airport, an hour from alicante. Weather was good most of the time although you need to wrap up at night. The property has central heating which again we needed in the evenings.

Balneario de Fortuna - Fortuna is a spa town to the north east of Murcia near the border of the province. Famous for its hot springs which were greatly appreciated by the Romans, Fortuna is fast becoming popular once again as the town becomes an important center for hydrotherapy, beauty treatments and other therapies associated with the natural hot mineral water. Fortuna is a typical Spanish town, as yet unexploited, with peaceful streets and a white church with a curious tower. For country lovers, to the south of Fortuna, there is a large lake, enclosed in a nature preservation area and surrounded by woods, ideal for walking or fishing.

These waters contain several elements and minerals that are often touted as a cure-all with health giving qualities and mysterious powers. Thousands of people flock to these springs in order to alleviate medical conditions namely, for rheumatism and breathing disorders and we have one just up the road, in Fortuna.

The traditional, quaint, village of Sucina is five minutes drive, with petrol station, banks, 2 supermarkets, church, bars and restaurants. Murcia City is 30 mins away with its glorious Cathedral, restaurants and bars. The historical city of Cartagena is also 30 mins away and Los Alcazares, with beautiful beaches, shops, bars and restaurants, is only 10 mins away. Murcia is a fascinating region, rich in nature reserves and is ideal for those who like to explore.

Refundable Damage Deposit £150

SECURITY DEPOSIT - of £150 is payable with the balance 6 weeks prior to commencement of holiday. The deposit is NOT applied towards the rent and shall be refunded in full within 14 days of departure providing the following conditions are met.
CLEANING COSTS - Cleaning costs are NOT included within the rental fee. A one-off exit clean is charged at a rate of €65 per clean, including laundry. This €65 is paid direct to the cleaning company on the resort i.e left in the apartment for collection. This reason for this is that it avoids the additional costs of foreign exchange and additional time and administration that would otherwise have to be passed on to the consumer.
MONTHLY STANDARD RATE - From £760 during the winter period (01-Oct-16 to 31-Mar-17); rising proportionately during the summer period. Discounts are offered to returning guests and for rental periods of 3 months or more between the the period 01 October to 31 March.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
