Beautiful cottage stay
This was the last place stayed on our vacation in Iceland, the Dales, and the Lakes, and it was our favourite of 7 accommodations. Beautifully renovated, fully outfitted, and a lovely location right beside a church. The Bitter End pub was just steps away; the food was great and well priced, with a few tables outside to enjoy the sunshine. This is a place we would stay again if we return to The Lakes.
Thank you Barry for your lovely comments. I’m so glad you had a wonderful stay at La’al Cottage and hope to see you again in the near future.
With kindest regards and thanks.
Comfortable cottage in a lovely town
The cottage was well equipped and in a great position to walk into town. Parking could be a little tricky but we always found a spot on the cobbles for overnight.
The accommodation was everything we had expected. Clean, comfortable and with all amenities.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay in this most comfortable and cosy of cottages.
My boyfriend and I stayed in La'al cottage for a holiday getaway. When we arrived we were in awe at how quaint and beautiful the cottage was!
We felt right at home... the sofa was so comfortable, the bedroom was very modern and we loved the style of the cottage.
Although the kitchen is smaller than average, we didn't mind at all. We cooked most lunch times and evenings. Tea, coffee and other things like herbs and spices were available for us to use.
The village of Cockermouth is a 2 minute walk from the cottage. One evening we had a takeaway from The Spice Club indian restaurant just a 5 minute walk away. Very delicious, I would recommend!
We enjoyed going out for late night walks and coming back to a warm, cosy cottage.
We loved our stay so much that we asked to stay for a 4th night! Jan was very helpful and quick at responding especially when we decided to stay longer.
Thank you again Jan, we loved staying at La'al cottage so much. We will definitely be back in the near future!
Thank you Georgia for your lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

La’al cottage is ideally situated, very well equipped and very clean and cosy
This is a great place to stay when visiting the Lake District, within easy reach of lovely places to visit and really nice pubs 1 min walk away. It’s small but perfect for a couple.
The kitchen is very well equipped and the bed is big and comfortable for a great nights sleep
Hopefully will return in the future.
really clean and nice but not cosy
This is a lovely little cottage near the heart of Cockermouth, comfortable bed, well kitted out and all you need for a short stay> We stayed 3 nights in February however and it was cold. The single radiator and fan heater heating just couldnt get the place warm enough. Not least, perhaps because, no door or curtain to the kitchen and staircase meant all the heat generated went upstairs! So we ended up wrapped in throws on the two seater sofa. I think if we had visited in summer we would have given 5 stars though, but not enough heating in winter to stay warm, well.....................
Dear Timothy. Thank you for your lovely comments about La’al. Cottage. Thank you also for your feedback on the heating. We will look at ways to improve the heating system so that during any subsequent cold snap the cottage remains cosy. With kind regards. Jan and Guy Roberts
