Nice location for access to cross country skiing trails. Cozy atmosphere and we would book again.
Perfect place for 2 couples with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on 2 levels. We had a problem initially with the pressure tank cycling on/off due to an electrical problem with the pump. However, Kris was there the very next day and fixed it. The views are great but only if you like clear glacier made lakes with lots of rocks and pine trees. We enjoyed watching and listening to the calls of the loons on the lake and also had fun watching the eagles and their nest. Almost daily we would see deer wandering near our place. We also enjoyed the Wolf International Center and dining in Ely at the Chocolate Moose. We were disappointed in the fishing but will come back a few weeks later when the water temperature is higher and the fish (and mosquitos) will be more active.
We make a point to stay at this great get away at least once a year. We feel so lucky to have found a retreat so well maintained, clean and well stocked. Kayaks, hammock, canoe, fishing boat and a fire pit right on the lake front! We know there are lots of things to do in the area, but honestly...we love it on Eagles Nest so much that we rarely leave the cabin-unless we are in need of more bait of course! Kris and Bruce are super helpful and haven't missed putting us on the fish yet. We are heading back up there today and judging from the weather we will be taking full advantage of the fireplace, sauna and fire pit ! I can't wait to have a week of peace and quiet !
Beautiful , quiet and secluded. Clean and neat cabin ( actually, a house) with all of the comforts of home. Enjoy the use of the kayaks on a crystal clean lake, no water skiers and lots of Loons to provide entertainment. I highly recommend this property!
My partner and I, and our two dogs, had a great time in this lovely house on Eagle's Nest Lake. We love to hike and took advantage of Bear Head State Park just a few miles from the home, and also explored a number of absolutely amazing trails around Ely--stunning big pines on rocky cliffs beside beautiful frozen lakes. It was so wonderful to come back after a winter hike to this sweet lakeside cabin and enjoy the sauna and then sit by the fireplace. The house has lots of room and is very nicely laid out. There are many large windows for great light and views. The house was clean, well-cared for, nicely decorated, and equipped with everything we needed (including a foosball table!) for a great two week stay. Bruce responded promptly to my questions and was very helpful. We'd highly recommend this comfortable, peaceful spot. And we really appreciate finding such a nice place that allows us to bring our dogs along as they certainly enjoy the hikes at least as much as we do.
Our family of 4 had a very peaceful and relaxing four-day stay. We took some beautiful hikes, enjoyed the kayaks and had some great saunas.
Easy drive to Ely to visit the Wolf Center and knock around a bit.
