About this property

Anglers Hideaway at Hiwassee River

The name of our cabin says it all 'Anglers Hideaway'. Purchased and managed by two college buddies who have been fly fishing together over fifteen years, this property is the perfect place to get away from it all and do some fishing. Located on the beautiful Hiwassee River in southeastern Tennessee, this cabin is close to all the action. Twenty minutes south and you can be rafting on the Ocoee River. Thirty minutes north you can fish the famous Tellico river in Tellico Plains, TN. Or you can just stay on the Hiwassee River while rafting and fishing! Whatever your daily activities entail, you can rely on one thing; the evening at the cabin will be unforgettable. Enjoy relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch, or plan a cookout using the grill. Inside you will find a full kitchen, laundry room, dining room, large loft area upstairs, and a comfortable living room for relaxing inside. Check out our pictures and come see our Hideaway.

Rafting: We have information on rafting the world class Ocoee River which is only minutes away from the cabin. We also have information on rafting the Hiwassee River which is where the cabin is located. You will find class 5 rapids on the Ocoee while the Hiwassee is a class 2.

Trout Fishing: Fish the Hiwassee River. Several miles of trout fishing, guides are available with the Hiwassee Outfitters. Or fish the Tellico River just minutes up the road in Tellico Plains.

Sight Seeing: Motorcycles are welcome and encouraged to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Cherokee National Forest. There is a winery on Hwy 411 and a many areas for a Sunday drive for the leaves of the fall.

Great Off the Radar Hideaway
We needed a place for 8 peeps to share a get together for Christmas weekend. This cabin is quaint and cozy! A running creek next to the cabin makes for that Mountain Getaway that your looking for. It’s is furnished with what is needed for your stay. As an added blessing, there was a Christmas Tree set up already that we placed our gifts under. The gas fire place was a big hit since it was high 20’s overnight there. The central heat was sufficient though. We used the fire pit out by the creek, fire wood was furnished and stacked ready for use. The girls and kids got to see an 8pt buck chasing a doe through the creek and up the mountain side. This is just an FYI…For those of you needing WiFi, there is none. AT&T works a little and Verizon none, not a concern for us though. This place is definitely on our stay again list.

Charming Creekside Cabin
Great getaway to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. The rental has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Tucked away in the Tennessee hills, there are many beautiful sites to see in the surrounding Cherokee National Forest and quaint towns to visit nearby.

Another Great Visit
We enjoyed another great visit at Anglers Hideaway. As always, it was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The Christmas decorations really set the holiday mood. The location is beautiful. I can't think of a better place to spend time with family.

Peaceful and beautiful location
This rustic family friendly cabin is located by a stream in a lovely setting. It is situated off the beaten track, but a 15-20 minute drive to restaurants and shopping needs. While the kitchen is well equipped, be sure to bring all food items needed (seasonings, oil, etc,). There is no internet access through wifi or most cell phone carriers. Cable TV and a wide selection of DVDs can keep you entertained. Response from owners with a couple of issues discovered where prompt and addressed. Check out was great as we just had to strip the beds, gather used towels, and empty trash. This is a great setting for large family/couples retreat close to rafting, trout fishing, and exploring SE Tennessee.
