Description

Photos and Description of this 6 bedroom holiday home in Rhosneigr - Oonavara

Sleeps 12 in Spacious Comfort With Sun Terrace and Views

A charming waterfront, arts and crafts house with bags of character and spacious, comfortable rooms. Oonavara is within moments of the shops and local amenities and has direct access to the beach. With a large sun terrace and sun lounge both facing the sea it has uninterrupted panoramic views from the Llyn Peninsula to Rhoscolyn and on to Holyhead mountain with nothing but sea and the islands and bay of Rhosneigr in between. The word most used in the visitors book is 'amazing'. both in terms of the views and the house itself. To read more testimonials and see some great photographs of the view visit our website www.oonavara-rhosneigr.co.uk.

It is so entertaining to watch the sea there really is no need for a TV but just in case, Ooonavara has a TV room for watching DVDs, sitting room with open log fire (coal and wood included in the price), dining room, games room with table football, pool table, jig saws, library, a second log fire and a well equipped kitchen with more beautiful views, all the mod cons and an aga for those 'occasional' less than perfect days!

Designer fabrics have been used throughout to enhance the existing arts and crafts interior complemented by parquet, rugs and flag flooring on the ground floor and carpeting in the bedrooms upstairs.

Downstairs there is a wet room, perfect for coming straight off the beach and upstairs a large bathroom with ample hot water, the whole house has very efficient central heating. All bedrooms have a view of the sea but one which looks out over the walled garden which has mature shrubs and lawn and is sheltered and secluded.

There is a parking area within the walled garden and in the private cul de sac outside. Beach towels, bed linen, napkins, tea towels etc, coal and logs and a clean before and after your stay are included in the cost.

Rhosneigr is a great village for good food, good walks and bucket and spade holidays as well as water sports and a base for venturing further afield. Oonavara has hosted many family celebrations: 40th, 50th, 70th, 80th birthday parties.

About Desdemona Freeman

We are a family of 5 who spend lots of time at Oonavara enjoying the local seafood, restaurants and beach life. Jonathan's family have been coming to Rhosneigr since he was a baby and it holds a special place in all our hearts. Apologies for the lack of pictures of the view they are coming shortly but I do recommend you look at our website www.oonavara-rhosneigr.com which has lots of pictures.

Why Desdemona Freeman chose Anglesey

I think this quote from one of our visitors just about sums it up 'Oonavara has nothing missing; the house embraces you as a home, the flow of the house allows for all ages to relax or celebrate together, with a constantly changing panoramic view and beautiful sunsets- thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home & making it a welcoming holiday”

What makes this house unique

We love Oonavara because it is so spacious and has the best ever-chaging views of the sea and the little islands that make Rhosneigr so special whatever the weather. In the winter its snug with log fires and games to play including snooker and table football and in the summer it has a large terrace and a lovely grassy walled garden. We have intentionally made it comfortable and homely and are happy to share it with visitors who often come for some sort of celebration!

Amazing Stay!!!

  • 4 of 5

Oonavara is warm and welcoming, its is stocked well and it would seem that everyone's needs have been considered. We had fun with the pool table and table football and were able to get a game of rounders on the beach when the rain had cleared.

With 8 ladies visiting - we could have done with more showers and mirrors - but we all managed.

Thank you for making our stay great!!

Beautiful house, loads of character and ideal for families and groups

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property for a 2 night stay for a long weekend. It was a great location right next to the beach. Both the adults and children had a great weekend.

There was a good choice of places to eat, even though we were a large group of 12.

We would recommend a stay at this house.

Superb house, spectacular setting.

  • 5 of 5

Every little comfort is taken care of - we especially liked all the beach towels & great washer/drier and useful downstairs huge wet room for hosing the children down straight off the beach. The sunsets on the terrace are gorgeous & you have every water sport literally on your doorstep. Best UK holiday we've had. Thank you!

Beautiful and interesting Property in a Fantastic Location....

  • 4 of 5

Oonavara is a large quirky maze of a building with stunning open galleried spaces and the cosy warmth of open fires and comfy furniture for the evenings - The arts and crafts details throughout the house were a lovely touch.

Being so close to the beachfront was excellent as we had a motorboat and a racing dinghy with us - easy to launch. The kids enjoyed the rockpooling and the adults enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the kids rockpooling with a glass or two of fizz..! we even did some sailing too....

We had 10 in the party and the sleeping arrangements were more than adequate with clean linen and quality pillows etc.

There were only a couple of anomalies to what was overall an excellent break. The dining table wasn't large enough for 10 people (6 seater) so we had to utilise another desk for 4 people to sit at... Aside from the oil fired AGA there was only a 2 ring electric hob and a small electric oven which at times was a real struggle when cooking for 10 people... Being so close to the sea also plays havoc with salt water on the walls, there was flaking paint on the inside walls of the kitchen and dining room which we had to be careful of when preparing food on the kitchen surfaces... the sewage treatment block across the road also made for some interesting smells and conversations on the patio...!

All the above was far outweighed by the wow factor and character of the building and stunning location - A brilliant weekend...!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments. Just wanted to clarify that the house has both a breakfast table which seats 6 in the kitchen (perfect for a rolling breakfast) but the dining room has a table which normally seats 10. I have just arrived at Oonavara and the smell is not sewage, it is rotting seaweed! The good news is that there haven't been any storms recently, the bad news is that the seaweed which is normally washed away, hasn't been and so it is breaking down - this is the first time in the 7 years that we have owned this property that this has occurred. I don't wish a storm upon us but.....
