About Jenny and John Carruthers
Ness Farmhouse is our permanent residence. We have lived in the village since 1986, and before that for ten years in Inverness and know the Highlands well and will happily advise visitors about the area.
Jenny and John Carruthers purchased this Cottage in 1994
Why Jenny and John Carruthers chose Inverness
We liked the traditional architecture of the house and its position so close to the beach.

Cozy cottage, great hosts. Perfect location for many walks to explore the Black Isle area.
Curlew Cottage is situated between the villages of Fortrose and Rosemarkie, very close to the beach and links golf course. Chanonry Point, a mile away, is known as the best place in Europe for spotting dolphins from the shore and boat trips are available as well from neighbouring villages. The Black Isle is an ideal destination for birdwatchers, walkers and golfers with beautiful views and historic places of interest. It is accessed from Inverness across the Kessock Bridge and features forests and fertile, rolling countryside and seaside villages. Driving is still a pleasure in this part of the world and the most of the Highlands are within easy reach in a day trip. Holidaymakers should not miss visiting the ancient village of Cromarty, 10 miles away. The Black Isle will appeal to visitors who appreciate nature and the outdoors and are looking for a peaceful holiday in lovely surroundings and yet near to the city of Inverness with its excellent facilities, including Eden Court Theatre.
