Self-contained cottage built in 1994 to blend in with the owners' traditional red sandstone farmhouse dating from 1840, set in garden with views of Rosemarkie bay. Accommodation includes small bedroom with double bed, hanging cupboard, bedside cabinets and lights, tall chest of drawers and big window with view of the cottage garden. The ensuite shower room has a heated towel rail. Bright, double-aspect sitting-room with full bookshelves, piano, dining table and chairs for two people, comfortable sofa and easy chair, electric wall heater and television. Entrance hall has space for coats and boots. Fully fitted kitchen includes electric cooker, washer/dryer, fridge, microwave. Just outside the door is a table and bench for an alfresco breakfast in a quiet sunny spot (hopefully!).
Ness Farmhouse is our permanent residence. We have lived in the village since 1986, and before that for ten years in Inverness and know the Highlands well and will happily advise visitors about the area.
Jenny and John Carruthers purchased this cottage in 1994
We liked the traditional architecture of the house and its position so close to the beach.
Lovely property with caring, welcoming hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would gladly return. Very clean, well laid out and cozy.
Excellent holiday.one of the best.close to beach and restaurant (crofters) and golf club for drinks, good food and wonderful sea views.cottage has everything you need.Jenny and John so friendly.lovely welcome basket.clean.peaceful and very comfortable.loved our break.definitely recommend.
Me and my wife stayed at the property for 4 nights in August, whilst the weather was indifferent the property was charming and a joy to be in. The gardens were meticulously maintained, with stunning views of the beach and surrounding countryside.
The hosts were fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a more gracious and kind couple. They added a lot of extras to the property that just made our stay that little bit extra special and more comfortable than we could have asked for.
We recommend staying here for anyone wishing to visit the highlands.
Lovely cottage, comfortable and very well kept.
A place of peace.
We spent 7 days at Jenny and Johns cottage and we had a wonderful stay!
Waking up to this beautiful garden was just the best! We were also lucky to have our breakfast outside in the sunshine every morning, we did a lot of beautiful walks and we saw dauphins!
I can only recommend a stay at this cottage!
Thank you Jenny and John for a wonderful stay!
Best wishes to the both of you!
