Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Tirol - Chalet Charlotte

5 Bedroom Property With Quiet Mountain Views

Chalet Charlotte has 200m2 of living space, split into 5 bedrooms with a kitchen & dining area, games room & sauna and sleeps 12 guests. It is perfect for a relaxing holiday for a large group of family or friends.Breakfast & Evening meal is possible in all circumstances (please ask for further details), or guests can self cater.

Chalet Charlotte is located in Fusch an der Grossglocknerstrasse in the province of Salzburg, 13km south of Zell am See. The wonderful valley location with its mountain views on all sides provides an idyllic setting to relax away from the stresses of everyday life, whilst being close enough to all the attractions and amenities when required. The holiday region grossglockner-zellersee is one of the most unique in the Austrian Alps. On the way to the amazing Grossglockner high-alpine-road you will find our village of Fusch, and the gateway to the mountains of the ‘Höhe Tauern National Park’.

Whatever the time of year the Zell am See-Kaprun region always has plenty to suit your tastes. There is almost every winter sport imaginable. And in the summer we’ve got mountain biking, rafting, sailing, golf, rock climbing, tennis, horse riding, and of course all the walking / hiking trails you can handle, plus much much more. The nearby town of Zell am See is bursting with Austrian charm & character and the crystal clear waters of the lake combined with the surrounding mountains, really do provide a beautiful picture postcard setting.

There are plenty of relaxing options too, whether that be a sightseeing & shopping trip to historic Salzburg or Innsbruck, to a leisurely boat trip around the lake or meadow walks.

In short, whatever you’re looking for in your holiday, Chalet Charlotte is the place to stay whatever the season.

We’re sure you’ll love it here, because we do!

Please note this is a no smoking property, pets are only allowed on request and that the owner lives in the property on the upper floor.

Here in Fusch there is a ski slope suitable for children or beginners, on this slope there are two lifts, one small practice lift going up to 80m and for the more proficient learner one reaching 280m. Ski-school also takes place here with the office in the Village.

In the winter there is a free ski bus service which stops 25 metres from the front door of the Chalet. This takes you to the nearby ski areas in Zell am See and Kaprun. There is ample parking (even in high season), both at the Areitbahn cable car giving you access to the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See (10 min drive), or the Maiskogel/ Kitzsteinhorn, in Kaprun (15 minutes' drive), where snow is guaranteed from November through to the end of May due to the Glacier. The ‘Skicircus’ region of Saalbach, Hinterglemm & Leogang is also in close proximity. Combined these three areas offer over 90 lifts and more than 330km of pistes.

After a tiring day on the slopes it goes without saying there is always plenty of Aprés Ski going on.

Cross-country skiing, Tobogganing, Curling, Snow Tubing, Horse-drawn Sleigh rides and both indoor and outdoor ice skating are also very close by.

If you fancy trying your hand at something new there is an outdoor ice go-kart racing track in Leogang. Snowmobil-city in Viehhofen just 25mins away gives you the opportunity to drive a skidoo or even a piste-basher.

The Zell am See region is a beautiful summer resort. The lake has a number of beaches and various water-sports can be undertaken in numerous locations around the lake. Remarkably the water temperature can reach up to 22 °C. If you wish to relax and gaze at the mountains from out on the water, then a scenic cruise or ferry crossing on lake Zell is a beautiful way to spend an hour or two. In peak season you can also take a night-time ‘twilight cruise’ around the lake.

Fusch itself lies in the ‘Hohe Tauern National Park‘. Here you will find wonderful meadows and gorges with wild flowers and waterfalls. The whole area is a paradise for Nordic walkers, ramblers and mountain bikers , as there are seemingly unlimited trails to explorer. Bike rentals are available in many locations including here in the village.

‘Tettenwand‘ and ‘Gletscherseeplatte‘ rock faces offer some excellent climbing for both novices and experts.

Just an hours drive in any direction and you will find some of the most amazing attractions such as; the largest ice caves in the world at ‘Werfen‘, one of the highest waterfalls in the world at ‘Krimml‘, the ‘Grossglockner high alpine road‘, Salt & Copper mines and the historical area of ‘Berchtesgaden‘.

For the more adventurous, there are activities such as white water rafting, canyoning, and rock climbing. And if that still isn’t enough then why not pop down to the light airfield in Schüttdorf, where paragliding and other airborne activities are to be found.

Our Chalet is situated directly on the Grossglocknerstrasse. This famous alpine road which leads you into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and to the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner (3,798m) and its glacier the ‘Pasterze‘. You will have the most amazing driving and nature experience of a special kind on 48 kilometres of high alpine road with 36 hair-pin bends, and an altitude ascent to 2,504 metres! Why not combine the trip with a wander around the Wildlife park at ‘Ferleiten‘. Located 6km from the Chalet, just before the toll road starts. Here you will meet some of the animal inhabitants of the region such as Bison, Bears, Lynx, Wolves, Deer, and the Ibex Goat, which is a type of mountain goat, unique to the Alps.

As our guest you have free unlimited access to the public heated outdoor pool, as well as tennis courts, a football pitch and a volleyball court all within 100meters.

In nearby Kaprun, the ‘Tauern Spa’ newly open in November 2010 has offered increased wellness and relaxation options all year round. Also located there in Kaprun is one of the finest golf courses in Austria which offers 36 holes, surrounded by the most stunning of views.

The Glemm valley, running from East to West from the top of the Zeller See is home to the hochseilpark which is Austria's biggest high rope course, as well as the Glemmy off-road park where you can race Quad bike‘s or Buggy‘s.

‘Bruck-Fusch‘ station offers brilliant connections to both Salzburg and Innsbruck.
