About the property

Renovated apartment located just minutes walk from Montpellier Saint Roch train station and the old medieval town center. Situated in one of the first residential settlements built in the 1950's with the apartment on the ground floor of a two story detached house. The area is exceptionally quiet and all local conveniences are within walking distance.

For those with a car, metered parking is possible outside the property ( Sundays and Bank Holidays are free and parking is payable from 9am to 6pm). Access to the main motorway, the A709, is simple, opening up possibilities of visiting the rest of the region with ease.

The apartment has its own section of the garden allowing you to relax and unwind at your leisure. The interieur is fitted for your comfort and all modern conveniences, including air cooling, are provided to make your stay feel like a « home from home ». As well as the TV, we have installed Netflix for those who wish to watch a film or a series in English or French. There is also the radio for those who would prefer to listen to a bit of music or the news. You can cook using the facilitates available including an outside barbecue, or venture into the town to try the large selection of restaurants and bars.

There is plenty to do and see in the town including visiting museums, historical buildings and sites; for example le musée Fabre, la promenade royale du Peyrou and the botanical gardens. For children there is the Zoo, which is free to enter and is situated on an 80 hectare site and home to over 750 animals and 145 species. There is also the Odysseum with houses an ice skating rink, cinemas, an indoor climbing wall, the aquarium and a shopping mall. If you have had enough of the beach and wish to stay in the centre but want a swim, you can visit the olympic swimming pool in Antigone, which has a roof that opens in the summer.

It is possible to enjoy a short break here without a car given the property's closeness to the old town. Should you wish to venture further, the tram offers the possibility to visit the nearby beaches or the out of town shopping centre (Odysseum). If you are more adventurous, you can take the train to nearby spots such as the fishing town of Sète or the Roman town of Nimes. The are also various bus routes that will take you other resorts such as La Grande Motte or the forted medieval town of Aigues Morte. For those who like to cycle, there is the possibility of hiring bikes at various posts around the town at reasonable rates. This allows you to discover areas such as Maguelone or Lattes which are nature reserves on salt lakes. Perfect for bird watchers or nature lovers.

Three Week Chill-Out

As a couple we were looking for a place that would provide a chance to just relax without the 'pressures' of being tourists. This place certainly hit the spot for us. Tracy, Fabrice, Ryan, and Keris were most welcoming.

Tha apartment was airy, spotless, and contained everything we could want (including sufficient dishwasher and washing machine tablets). The kitchen was well equipped for real living and cooking. As described the apartment was in a quiet suburb of Montpellier within easy access of Tram stops (about 7 mins walk) with similar times to the neatest shops.

Tracy is an hospitable, friendly, and amenable host; always trying to make your stay agreeable. There is just no downside to this place!

JUST WONDERFUL

We just returned from our wonderful stay in these lovely accommodations in a great location. The apartment was exactly as described and is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay including garden privileges in a quaint residential neighborhood. After finding out we would be delayed upon arrival, the owners went out of the way to insure we were welcome and felt comfortable in our new surroundings immediately.

The city of Montpellier with its train station, car rental, shops and many places of interest is only a 15 minute walk away, plus there are several patisseries and local shops close by as well. There is plenty to do in this very scenic and historic region of France (Occitane). You are able to have a great holiday with or without a car.

The owners were fantastic in answering all of our questions with reference to places of interest. We will definitely plan a return visit. A bientot!

Comfortable, well appointed property

We have stayed in many rental properties around the world and by far this is the most comfortable apartment. Located within easy walking distance from the train station and old town, the apartment features two bedrooms with comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen with quality cookware, dishes and dishwasher and clothes washer. The bathroom is split between a toilet room and shower room, both spacious and modern. But, best of all is Tracy and her family, they are very helpful with directions, local information and assistance. No complaints, just praise for a very nice apartment.
