Lovely villa in a beautiful village

  • 4 of 5

We had a fabulous family holiday at this great house in a one of the loveliest villages within an easy drive of Avignon.

We were a family of four adults and a baby looking for a family house in a village location. We were very happy with this modern villa which was spacious, well laid out and very well equipped. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the kitchen and the options for outdoor eating. The villa has an additional annex completely separate from the house. This was a lovely additional space and much more attractive than it appeared in the photos.

The pool was very large and a really practical design with great views of the Pont du Gard. The only negative with the whole house was that the pool could have been cleaner.

We found the owners extremely helpful in providing additional equipment for our baby and asking answering queries quickly when we arrived.

We loved the village of Castillon Du Gard which had lots of traditional character and a great selection of restaurants. It was particularly important to us that we could walk into the village and the villa was an easy 10 minute walk away. We did an excellent walk to the Pont to Gard and particularly loved the nearby town of Uzes.

We loved our week in this villa and would happily stay there again.

In historic Castillon-du-Gard, this well-located house offers access to a wide range of watersports and outdoor activities, including but not limited to hiking, rafting and mountain biking. You’ll also find superb restaurants and bars within 800 metres of your door and a supermarket at 2 kilometres. Marseille is located 130 km away from this beautiful house and Avignon only 30 km away.

While abandoning your gorgeous view of the Pont du Gard might be a challenge, there is much to explore in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Popular day trips around the area include visiting Carcassonne and Saint-Louis Bastide by foot or bicycle and eating in one of the Medieval towns’ renowned restaurants; canoeing under the Pont du Gard; browsing the Faugeres wine route in Beziers; and admiring the ancient city of Nimes.
