We are a family that loves beach vacations. The kids love being so close the beach where they can swim and fish.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
We built this house because of the beautiful white sand beaches and warm gulf water.
Large, well-furnished home inside a gated community. A true walk to beach (.5 mile). We have a golf cart for the guests to use while staying at our house.
We loved the house and the beach was amazing.we will be booking again next.
Our family had a great week at this beautiful house and incredible beach. We love this area and have stayed along 30A for years. This was our first time at this house and in the Preserves at Grayton.
The owner, Joe is super friendly, helpful, understanding (when we misunderstood the golf cart regulations!), and quick to respond when we needed light bulbs changed, had questions, etc.
It was really pretty and well decorated. I actually feel like the pictures don't do it justice. It was bigger than I expected. It was a great layout for us- with our smaller kids in the bunkroon right across from us and our older kids and my in-laws upstairs. SO nice that every room has its own bathroom!
The two pools are great; the better of the two is basically 2 doors down from the house so we were there a lot!
It's quite a haul to the beach. The pin that the VRBO website showed us wasn't correct, it's further away than it showed. It's at the end of Morgan's trail, not on Barton's Way. But the golf cart makes it no big deal at all. And again, you're closer to the pool.
Unlike a lot of the other private 30A beach accesses, the Preserves access has no stairs! It made rolling our gear down there so much easier. And most of the boardwalk is shaded by trees.
I was thinking our dog would be allowed on the beach (we've seen dogs on Grayton beach before) but if you have a dog, do your homework first. They're only allowed between the hours of 4pm-8am and a beach registration is required, which is a long lottery application process, I was told. Wished I had researched that more.
Overall it was a great stay and we definitely recommend this rental!!
We stayed there last year and it was beautiful, this year we were a little disappointed. When we arrived the floors were dirty and the outdoor trash cans were overflowing. Most of the pillows had no pillow cases (and we were unable to locate any). We had to go to the store for trash bags, toilet paper and dish soap on the first day. However, the house is spacious, comfortable and in a great location.
As always, Joe's house was clean and roomy, and Joe is always responsive and helpful when necessary. We've stayed there numerous times now, and we absolutely love it.
We had a great time at Egrits Landing! The house was spacious and located right in the middle of everything! A short drive to Blue Mountain, Grayton (and the Red Bar, a must during your stay), Santa Rosa, Seaside, and Watercolor! Lots of great food and shopping! And one of the nicest stretches of private beach just across the road to bury your toes in!!!!! Wish the golf cart was street legal, however we were able to find parking just about everywhere we went!!!!! The first words out of my wife's mouth when we got home were "we need to go back there for a whole week!"
House was just what we needed for our family of 11. Bunk room was perfect for our 3, 5, 7, and 10 year old. The BR with 2 Queens was perfect for the other 3 year old and his parents. Living area was large enough that we never felt like we were on top of each other. From reading some review recommendations, we brought extra chairs for the living area so everyone could have a seat. We took Joe's recommendation and rented bikes with discount. They had them there when we arrived, and they picked them up minutes before we left. Bike riding was fun for our family! 30A has a long asphalt bike path that is miles long. It is close to 30A, but separate from the highway. The beach access is quite a hike, and we had a family member who was 8 months pregnant, and a 66 year old who had a hurt foot. They were both troopers, and we made it fine. We brought a beach cart that we found at Costco that held our cooler, chairs, towels, books, and a few beach bags to roll our cart across the beach access. It does take someone strong to get them up the few stairs at the beach access and roll it across the sand though....we loaded it down! Luckily, my son, my SIL, and my 10 year old were very helpful doing that. . I actually loved the beach access...so many plants to see! It is partially shaded as well. The lake makes little pools of water that our 5 grandchildren loved to play in, and they loved the lake as much as the ocean. This is the best beach ever. The water is so beautiful, and so clear, and the sand is amazing....like sugar. There is no debris on this beach, and it is almost private. Some mornings, we were the only family there. Joe has 2 umbrella chairs for those who want to just relax and read. We always bring cabanas and extra beach chairs and mats for those who want variety. I highly recommend staying at Egrets Landing.
