Just 1.5km from the edge of Lake Hallstatt the cottage is an ideal base from which to explore all that the Salzkammergut region has to offer; from historic Hallstatt, the Dachstein ice caves, days out to Salzburg or St Wolfgang or simply to relax and and take a swim in the lake or just enjoying the mountain scenery and fresh air!
The cottage has two double bedrooms, bathroom, second WC, living room with wood burner and a kitchen/dining area. Outside the garden is terraced and has a sheltered patio with seating for 6 and a bbq area. There is parking for two cars.In teh winter there is a wintergarden from the lounge - so if you aren't a skier you can sit and enjoy the scenery! The terrace offers wonderful views over the rooftops towards the Krippenstein peak.
We have lived in Obertraun for nearly 10 years. We run a bed and breakfast in the village and purchased this lovely house in the spring of 2015 and this summer is our first rental season.

Explore the region visiting regal Bad Ischl, the favorite town of Kaiser Franz Josef, where you can sample wonderful cakes and coffee on the riverside, and visit the Kaisers summer palace. Bad Aussee, the centre of Austria,is the perfect spot for shopping for traditional Austrian fashion and discovering the many independent shops. Wonderful spas can be found in both Bad Ischl and Bad Aussee.
