Lots of space, very clean, great property

We love going to this property, the owner is so easy to work with and makes sure the Cabin is in tip top shape. The back patio, fire pit area and shoreline are some of our favorite features this cabin has to offer. Lots to explore!

Fun, family-friendly cabin loaded with with extras

  • 5 of 5

Tracy's cabin was perfect for our 4 little families +a couple extra adults. Nice, open floor plan allowed us all to interact between the living room and kitchen. Two fire pits gave extra options, and paddle boats were also available, with kid and adult life jackets. Highly recommended for families - and sending checks was easy. Thanks Tracy!

Had a great stay

Too many steps for my 96 year old dad but otherwise it was great.

Owner helped me get him in his wheelchair and down the hill to the downstairs door.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We celebrated our 40 year wedding anniversary with our three children's families. There was space four all fourteen of us but the outdoors required careful watch of the kids due to close acces to "wild areas". The fishing was fun, we used the boat, and swam at Shell Lake and playgrounds there and in Cumberland. The cabin has most things needed for daily living and so cooking was relatively easy. Found the frig a bit small as we needed to bring lots of special foods due to a long list of allergies. Cabin layout was good and enough space for everyone to have a place to "play". In all a great week for our celebration. Only negative was we could not have the dogs with us. But, Happy Tails took good care of them. Thanks Racoon Cabins!

Owner's Response: It clearly states on my site the pets are not allowed, so I don't know how that could be a negative statement against my cabin. I was the one that suggested Happy Tails:) Fun place for the Doggy's to play:) I also said that that the dog could come play during the day, but not go in the cabin. I try to help out in any way that I can:) I have two boys that have grown up at the cabin. They have enjoyed it very much and were very safe. It is a private wooded lot. I believe that any small child should be carefully watched anywhere:) It also States on my site what size the refrigerator is in the cabin. It is actually being changed this winter to a full size:) just to clarify I only own one cabin, that I take extremely good care of. I try to do the best I can for each and every renter that comes in:) I want to have a place where you can make memories with your family's to take with you for a life time:) Thank You Tracy :)

Good place for a "friend-vacation"!

  • 4 of 5

We are 4 families of college friends who like to travel together and this place worked great for all of us. We knew we needed A/C and 2 bathrooms, which this place had. The kids(age 10-12) spent plenty of time at the lake on the swim raft & the boats were used for fishing. Unfortunately, we caught lots of tiny fish and 1 big Northern that wasn't quite big enough to keep. We enjoyed the duck, frogs & toads, deer, and many birds at the cabin. The fire pit was a nice place to make s'mores and we used the grill twice. Tracy was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions promptly.

My only complaints are very minimal. First, the fridge is on the small size, so we had trouble fitting everything in for a weeks worth of cooking. Drinks did fit nice in the little fridge behind the bar downstairs. Also, we had trouble getting anything dry in the drier. it took 3-4 cycles to get things completely dry. We ended up hanging out a clothes line to finish drying things. We also could only get the DVD player to play movies in Black & White.

Overall, a wonderful place with lots of things supplied in the cabin to use and enjoy! Would recommend to anyone!

Owner's Response: I was not aware of the DVD or the dryer. Please let me know of anything broken or not working. I do my best to take care of anything that is needed. If i don't know i can't fix it :) I am very easy to get a hold of and very approachable:)
