Nestled in the District of Silves, the growing village of Algoz possesses a unique history tempered with rich agricultural surroundings, making it a fascinating locale well worth exploring.
Algoz boasts a huge monthly market in the Central Algarve, but there are various daily fresh fish and fruit markets you must be sure to visit as well. Despite its small size, the village boasts several different restaurants – be sure to visit the establishment of your choice and ask for the Prata da Dia, or Dish of the Day, along with a glass of the best local wine.
And if you came to Portugal for the sun-kissed, golden beaches, head to Gale beach, just 16km from the property, for swimming and water sports. Culture vultures will want to head to Silves, 8km away, with its magnificent castle. Built between the 8th and 13th century, it’s one of the best-preserved Moorish fortifications in Portugal.
The nearest bar and restaurant are within 500m, while you’ll find a supermarket at 5km.
