Nestled in the spectacular Tamar Valley (an area designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), the lodge provides the perfect location for a relaxing break or an ideal base from which to explore Cornwall and all that it has to offer.
The accommodation is arranged over two floors, with a reversal of more traditional living accommodation, to take full advantage of the upper floor balcony with commanding views. On the ground floor there are four good-sized bedrooms: One has a double bed and ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and WC, one has 2 single beds, a third has a double bed and the fourth is fitted with a bunk bed. The family bathroom has a shower and WC.
The stairs leading from the ground floor open up into a contemporary, yet cosy, living room. These have French doors with access to a spacious, extended wooden deck, providing views across the 30-acre estate and the valley beyond – a perfect place to sit and enjoy a cool glass of wine.
There is a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with a large family dining table which is adjacent to the living room and completes the accommodation upstairs. The property benefits from double glazing throughout and has a lower patio and spacious grassed area outside to provide sumptuous accommodation whatever the time of year. Curl up on the sofa with a book, treat yourself to a glass of wine on the terrace, overlooking the garden and lush valley below, or play one of the many games made ready for your stay.
Included entertainment options are a HiFi system and flat-screen TV , and central heating plus an electric fireplace will keep you comfy in any season.
From March 2016 onwards a large variety of new leisure facilities will be available for all those staying at the lodge. A heated indoor pool, a large outdoor pool, a brand new tennis court and a gym will be some of the amazing options travellers can enjoy during their stay.
There is WIFI in the Manor House, only one minute walk away! where you can find also a lively bar and a lovely restaurant.

Whether it be fly fishing, canoeing, walking, tree surfing, archery, yoga, aquarobics, tennis mountain biking or simply having a round of golf, the lodge has everything you need on its doorstep. If a more sedate visit is what you have in mind, then in addition to the wooded landscape of Honicombe Estate itself, a choice of coastline (north or south Cornwall) is never more than a brief car journey away. If you want to leave your car in the private parking facilities near the lodge, there is a local bus service to many tourist destinations or, why not take the train from the local village of Gunnislake (1 mile away) along the beautiful Tamar Valley railway and into the City of Plymouth. Visit some of the many attractions in the area or simply enjoy the picturesque Tamar Valley and surrounding countryside – the choice really is yours.
Local attractions include the Tamar Trails, with cycling, tree surfing or canoeing, or, within easy walking distance, the Donkey Sanctuary, where the kids will enjoy the large play area and those amazing donkeys. Jump in the car for a trip to Morwhellam Quay – as seen on TV on The Edwardian Farm TV series - or drive just a little further and you can be well into Dartmoor National Park.
Golfers can play a round at St. Mellion Golf Course, only 5km from the lodge. Or why not go rock-pooling at Talland Bay or Plymouth beach, only 25 minutes away.
Treat your taste buds to everything from standard pub fare to hearty stews and Indian curries: Regardless of your entree, most establishments will have an impressive spirit-, ale-, and cider list that should be sampled, and you’ll find restaurants and bars within 1km of the lodge.
