The house is so lovely, it always feels like home when we get there. We are Dutch and have been in this cozy house many times already. The first time we felt so welcomed by Irene, the owner, and now every time we see each other the contact just is great. The character of her and her family is in and around the house!
This cabin is perfect for the couple looking for a romantic getaway. Perfectly appointed, my husband and I literally could not have asked for anything more. The decor was extremely tasteful, and we had absolutely everything we needed (and more). Rustic exposed beams, skylights, deck, and cozy fireplace made this midweek escape one of the best we've ever had. A large selection of books, DVDs, and brochures for all the local parks, restaurants, vineyards, museums, and villages ensured that we spent our time enjoyably. The bedroom was surprisingly spacious with a big comfortable bed, fine linen and bedspread, and perfectly furnished. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking our dinner in the well-stocked kitchen with the local produce we picked up during the day, and also appreciated the wireless internet connection with helped us keep tabs on what was happening in the "real world". There was plenty of closet space for us to keep our things and even a washer and dryer. This cabin is truly perfect, and we plan on staying again.
We cannot say enough good things about this cottage, warm, well appointed and very cozy. We plan to return and soon.
I stayed at the cottage for 3 nights over the holiday break. The cottage was lovely - warm and homey and had everything I needed. It has a beautiful view, and is ideally located right next to the rail trail and a close drive to New Paltz, Kingston, etc. The host was very helpful and accessible, and checked to make sure I had everything I needed for my stay. I look forward to staying here again.
My partner and I spent two nights in December at Irene's beautiful cottage and couldn't have been cozier! It's kept quite neat and there was plenty of firewood, classic movies, and literature on the area to keep us occupied. We cooked our meals in the modest kitchen and were never lacking for any utensils. There was even a healthy supply of coffee (along with decaf, which is exactly what I need) for us to use! The place is at the end of quiet road next to a creek and was surrounded by pristine snowy pastures. We spent one of our days walking down a long and well trodden path through the woods, following the creek and not nearing the end of the road even after an hour of walking! It was the perfect quiet, serene, cozy getaway for our Christmas vacation. And it will always be particularly special to us because we got engaged while we were there!
Thanksgiving was idyllic in Irene's peaceful cottage. Beautifully appointed with attention to detail, a fully equipped kitchen, soft fluffy towels and in an perfect location for exploring the Rail Trail, I would highly recommend this cottage as a wonderful place to stay.
The cabin is adorable. So well kept, so cozy. We went for the weekend to escape the hustle and bustle and boy did we. We were in our pajamas the whole time. The trail made for a great walk along the water and then back to a nice fireplace. It's clean and up to date.... I would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic, quiet weekend!!!!
