Arrived at this property in late March. The apartment was cold and the heat and fridge were turned off. Almost froze the first night and when we approached the owner about the lack of heat we got a frosty reception (no pun intended). When we told her we would have to have some heat or we could not continue our stay, she showed us a switch behind the fridge on a wall receptacle near the floor that turned a fan unit on. Owners controlled the actual heat. We were told that no one had complained about being cold before. The wifi only works in the back bedroom up against the wall. We were told to sit on a bench outside by their door to get a strong signal. Even then the upload was so slow that we could not do our Ryanair check in. They told us no one had complained before, but they were aware of the issue and nothing could be done about it. The shower stall is a tiny dark thing with plumbing that changes temperature and pressure frequently. The shower head holder was broken, so you had to hold it with one of your hands while trying to wash your hair. The heavy steel rod is held up by a hole in the wall at one end and an electrical clamp at the other while resting on top of the shower stall. Pulling the curtains one way would bring the whole thing crashing down on your head. The toilet did not fully flush ever and when I asked the owner about this he said he was aware of the problem, but no one had complained. The toilet tank also would not fill unless you took the lid off and wiggled the hardware. Owner showed me how to wiggle the hardware. The location is out of town up a single lane rough road in the middle of nowhere and in walking distance to nowhere as well. The apartment has a damp dark cave like feel to it and the pictures on this site do not represent the real situation. When we remarked about how dim the kitchen was at night, we were told to take the pole lamp from the other room and move it into the kitchen. Unfortunately it was broken in half and held together with scotch tape. This is a 220 volt lamp! We baled on this place and spent a night in Palermo so we could shower and feel human again. When we came back at 8 the next night the place stunk of sewer gas and someone had opened all the windows. We had had enough. The next morning we had a heated exchange with the owner. We packed up and left. We have been renting apartments for more then thirty years and this is the first time we have had to walk out on one. Went to a hotel in town
