A cosy apartment in a perfect location

We stayed at apartment I in Les Alpages in Les Carroz from the 5th to the 12th March. The location could not have been better. We were literally 2 minutes from the ski bus which in itself was less than 10 minutes to the lift. The buses were frequent, efficient and the drivers very helpful and friendly.

The accommodation itself was ideal for 4. It was advertised for 6 but past experience told us that to take any apartment to the maximum capacity would result in it being a little less comfortable. In this case, with 3 proper bedrooms this would not have been too much of a problem but we were glad of the extra space.

As soon as we opened the front door, we were welcomed by warm, clean surroundings and ample facilities. The photographs didn't really do justice to the property although the general description was very accurate. East facing, we were afforded lovely sunrises from the balcony and one of the bedrooms which faced directly toward the slopes. The main living area was more than adequate as were the kitchen facilities. The other bedroom was at the front of the property. Both rooms (and indeed the whole apartment) were very quiet at night. An absolute must for us after a hard days skiing!

As a personal preference for us, we always take our own pillows. However, on this occasion we could have managed very well with what had been provided. Duvets would have been nice though.

There were one or two 'home comforts' which we missed in the kitchen but these only extended to a potato masher, cheese grater and perhaps larger serving spoons. Oddly, a can opener was also absent (purchased later in the well stocked village mini-market). Nothing whatsoever to complain about - just observations. We always eat in (with the exception of one night a week) and for this reason the amenities are quite important to us. However, as mentioned, nothing that a quick visit to the shop could rectify.

One other small observations regarding the layout - there was a slight lack of kitchen surfaces - as mentioned, we do tend to eat in and really 'live' in the accommodation. As such, the preparation area was quite tight. Again, we managed perfectly well but some additional work space would have been useful.

Otherwise, there was a very large cupboard for all the ski gear and secure ski lockers right outside the front door. The parking was perfect with both a space immediately outside the apartment as well as an actual garage.

In short - we loved it! Thank you!
