Stunning mountainside location, minutes from Chamonix-centre

Apartment Génépi sleeps six people; a large double bedroom downstairs as well as a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom upstairs. For occasional use there are also twin sofa beds in the living room.

The living area has a kitchen and dining space by the large french doors creating a bright corner with views towards Brévent and a small woodland nearby where deer often feed in the morning. Génépi has a television with built-in DVD player which does not show televised channels but we do offer a selection of DVDs as well as books and board games.

The doors give on to a private balcony; a lovely place to have drinks or a meal in the summer where you feel a wonderful sense of space surrounded by mountains and with the valley of Chamonix below. As soon as the snow has melted the barbecue and outdoor picnic tables are available to all our guests on the communal terrace. The kitchen itself comprises a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, four-ring ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and electric kettle. There are also place settings and cookware for up to eight people.

The living room of Génépi has a lovely open fireplace and a snug at the end provides a recess for the sofa bed. There is also a large bath/shower room with heated towel rail. A hairdryer and iron with ironing board are included in all our apartments.

The apartment benefits from a boot dryer and outdoor ski locker and the total surface area is 80m².

Travelling with children:

For our guests travelling with little ones please note that the Chalet Beaumont includes a cot, highgchair and box of toys free for the duration of your stay and these can be requested during the booking process.

Chalet Beaumont

Chalet Beaumont is home to seven rental apartments of which Génépi is one. The Chalet is situated in the quiet hamlet of Le Mont, just above Les Bossons, between the village of Les Houches and Chamonix town centre, which are both five minutes drive away. The Chalet's views of the mountains and valley are stunning and take your breath away every time you see them...

With fully independent access for each apartment and without views of the other apartments from inside you will be well placed to enjoy the calm of the mountains, away from the crowds.

Ski lifts:

The distance by car from Chamonix's ski lifts are as follows:

Brévent, in Chamonix town: five minutes

Les Houches: 10 minutes

Flégère: 15 minutes

Grand Montets, in Argentière : 20 minutes

Le Tour: 25 minutes

Both Courmayeur in Italy and St Gervais, linking to Mégève, are also 25 minutes drive from us.

Driving in Chamonix:

We usually recommend having a car when staying at Chalet Beaumont as this really helps you to make the most of your time in the valley as Chamonix is more spread out than most mountain resorts. With lots of free parking at the chalet, a straightforward drive into the valley from the motorway and car parks at all the ski lifts it is very easy to get about by car in Chamonix.

Winter Tyres:

Please note that the local authorities are very good at gritting our road and clearing it quickly when snow fall is heavy. From December to March you must have winter tyres on your car. This is standard when renting a car from the Swiss side of Geneva airport and expected when driving in the mountains.

On foot and by bus:

Walking down from the chalet there are three local restaurants: Le Tremplin, La Cremerie du Glacier and l'Hôtel Aiguille du Midi; all are a 5-15 mins walk from Chalet Beaumont. There is also a bus stop 10 minutes away, just opposite La Cremerie du Glacier. The bus will take you into Chamonix town and to the Flégère ski lift. The train station of Les Bossons is a 15 minute walk down the hill and in the warmer months it is a lovely 30-45 minute stroll into town. As the bus service stops at about 7.30pm you would need to book a taxi back after this time. Please bear in mind that it is a relatively steep walk back up to the chalet so add 10 minutes for walking back.

We are Laura and Greg Hely Hutchinson and Chalet Beaumont has been our holiday home in the Alps since the summer of 2010. We live in the UK most of the year and simply love coming to Chamonix, and are so excited to share our wonderful holiday apartments with you! We come at all times of the year with our little boy, family and friends and simply cannot get enough of all the valley has to offer; sports, culture, shopping and eating.

Our decision to buy Chalet Beaumont came from our love of France, where we had both spent a part of our childhoods, a shared passion for the great outdoors and a dream to provide holiday accommodation which to each of our guests would feel like their own home-from-home in Chamonix - where they would want to come back to time and again.

We and our guests get to enjoy hiking, skiing, mountain biking, paragliding, snowboarding, rock climbing and so much more. The valley is often referred to as a Mecca for outdoor sports so what better place to come back to time and again?

Plus, when the weather sets in we appreciate the time to catch-up on some reading, play a game of Scrabble or watch a movie. We never get bored here!

What makes this apartment unique

Just a few minutes drive from Chamonix town and the ski lifts of Les Houches and Brévent, Chalet Beaumont offers the perfect combination of Alpine peace, tranquility and beauty with the essential access to shops, restaurants and an array of activities.

The view of the mountains and valley below is mesmerising - even friends who live in Chamonix find it breathtaking! Chalet Beaumont offers the natural quiet and calm that comes from being in the mountains; revitalising the senses and filling you with the wonder of nature.

Yet just a few minutes from the valley's main road and town centre, the location provides quick access and easy access to shops and restaurants and more importantly the ski lifts and a vast array of hiking and biking trails and climbing spots - many on our very doorstep.

Chalet Beaumont offers such a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing place to return to after a day exploring Chamonix!

Amazing place to stay.

We stayed in this lovely property for 5 nights in early summer. It was our favourite place to stay during the 6 weeks we were travelling. Would loved to have stayed longer but we had already prebooked the next place. We would definitely book this place again when we return to Chamonix.

Located in a nice quite area on the slopes of Mont Blanc, the apartment had plenty of space and beautiful views from the main balcony over the valley. Our favourite thing was the fireplace, what a great way to chill out in the evening, it was one of the warmest and best burning fireplaces I have ever used.

Winter holidays in March 2013

We had a very nice stay in the appartment 7b. After a very friendliy communication before our arrival, we arrived at the appartment very late (1 a.m.). That wasn´t a problem because the manager Sarah provided a way to enter the house. The radiators were on and so we felt very comfy from the first moment. We were 6 people but the appartment was absolutely big enough to spend the days there. The apartment was clean, the bathroom much bigger than expected, the kitchen modern and contained everything you need. We also used the fireplace, which is very nice in winter. Wood was provided for one fire. You have to buy more wood for another campfires, but this shouldn´t be a problem. We all enjoyed our stay there and were glad to find an apartment with such a good view on the mountains and the town for such a cheap price. If you have any kind of problem or question you can be sure that the friendly manager tries to help solving/answering it. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. I can recommend this apartment to every group or family, who plans a short stay or longer stay with self-supply. Thank you for your hospitality. It was awesome.

Fantastic days in Chamonix!

He spent five days in Chalet Beaumont in Chamonix last February, and we really had a great time there! The chalet is very clean, well located (5 minutes away from Chamonix centre) and very well equipped. We were a party of 18, and we could connect two of the apartments so we were almost all together, which was great. Sarah, the owner, was very helpful as well so everything was superb!

If I go back to Chamonix, I will stay again in Chalet Beaumont, no doubts!!

Perfect and Great View.

It was unbelievebel! It was perfect, we had a great time in that chalet. The owners were very helpful. Spaceful and well equiped. The Kids enjoyed it,too. Plenty of places to go from the chalet. We highly recommend this for you!

Tout était parfait !!!

Très beau chalet , parfaitement propre . Les jeux , livres et dvd à disposition étaient très bien pour occuper notre fille de 18 mois . De plus l équipement bébé etait tres pratique . L accueil sympa ... Bref tout était parfait . On espere revenir bientot .

Lors de votre séjour vous n'avez pas mentionné un problème avec la télé, il est clairement noté que celle-ci ne diffuse pas les chaines télé, ou les toilettes. Je n'ai pas remarqué de problèmes avec ces derniers mais je surveillerai. Au plaisir de vous accueillir une prochaine fois au chalet!

Local Hiking

Going up from the chalet, you can enjoy a 45 minute hike up to a viewing platform overlooking the glacier and if you peer hard, you may see ice climbers risking life and limb amongst the awesome crevasses and pyramids of ice. There is also a chair-lift which opens in the summer season taking visitors from the valley floor directly to the viewing platform and the Buvette du Glacier des Bossons, a pleasant café where you can get a drink and a snack whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Continuing on, now a more serious route, you will eventually come to the junction of the two glaciers, Bossons and Taconnaz, where you can marvel at the spectacular views of Mont Blanc's ice falls. Some of the most famous hikes in the valley begin on our doorstep and indeed the first ascent of Mont Blanc, by Jacques Balmat and Doctor Paccard, started from our hamlet in 1786.

ANNULATION OU MODIFICATIONS
1. La réservation peut, par écrit, être annulée en tout temps. Dans le cas d’annulation après la confirmation de la réservation, les frais d’annulation suivant seront demandés :
>56 jours avant la date d’arrivée = perte des arrhes
36 - 55 jours = 50% retenu
22 - 35 jours = 75% retenu
0 - 21 jours = 100% retenu
CB fera de son mieux pour accommoder toute demande de modification à la réservation suite à sa confirmation, mais ne peut pas s’y engager. Un frais de €15 par personne peut être facturé si une modification est acceptée.
2. CB réserve le droit, après l’échéance du solde, d’annuler toute réservation ou de modifier tout élément de la réservation quand les circonstances indépendantes de notre volonté rendent l’annulation ou telle modification inévitable ou si l’échéance du solde dû n’est pas réglée.
3. Si CB annule or modifie une réservation, le client sera averti au plus tôt possible et offert en cas de modification, le choix d’accepter la modification, de niveau équivalent, si disponible, si non un remboursement complet et rapide.

Notes:
This apartment is on the 1st floor of our chalet but is accessed from the road above so please note that there are several flights of steps to be walked down to get to the apartment. In the summer it is possible to park across the meadow and walk across but this is still not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. We offer true mountainside accommodation!
