About the property

Unique, highest specification apartment, ideal for large groups

The Montchavin-La Plagne resort (= Les Coches) is located in the heart of Paradiski, on the La Plagne estate just below the Vanoise Express cable car going to Les Arcs.

The residence Le Carousel is "ski at the foot", the gondola of Lake Noir.

The duplex apartment is located on the 5th floor and has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and other separate toilet, a large living room with comfortable seating for 10 or 12 people, as well as two balconies.

All beds, sheets and towels are provided and beds will be prepared upon arrival.

The dining room includes a large table for 12 people, a sofa with chaise longue and a large balcony with views of the ski slopes.

The kitchen is equipped with oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine / dryer, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and a nespresso machine.

Upstairs you will find two large double bedrooms (one very large). Downstairs there is a bunk room with 2 bunk beds. Downstairs there is another double bedroom en suite. In the room there is a sofa bed for two people.

2 ski lockers are located at the entrance of the residence.

The apartment is non-smoking and pets are not allowed.

Access to Montchavin-La Plagne:

- by car: 2 hours from Lyon

- by train: Landry station (just before Bourg St Maurice) then bus during the season

At the entrance of the village:

At the roundabout, turn left towards the center and then climb to the top. The residence is the penultimate. A minute deposit area empties the car with easy access to the elevator.

Cars can be parked in the car parks above or below the residence.

Montchavin-La Plagne is one of the few resorts labeled Family Plus on a large ski area. Concretely, the nursery is accessible to babies from 9 months (on a tested, they are high) and clubs children until 13 years (idem), regular animations, ice rink, nautical center in Montchavin ...)

The apartment has 2 double beds, 1 king size bed and 2 adult size bunk beds. There are two bathrooms and a separate shower.

The kitchen has induction hob, oven, large fridge and washing machine. The dining room area up to 12 and the large U-shaped sofa in the living room seats 10 people in comfort. In the living room there is free Wi-Fi, a TV set (no TV channels), Blue Ray DVD player and MP3 speaker.

In the large storage cupboard you will find a warm ski boot and plenty of storage space for helmets, gloves and coats.

The apartment has been designed with comfort to her heart. It is extremely well equipped, with everything you need to make a home away from home.

Both balconies face both the ski slope - a lot of fun watching the skiers come home at night. Better yet, the meeting place of the ski school is right outside the door of the apartment.

During the summer and winter seasons, an ice rink can be enjoyed - it is located just outside the apartment. The Vanoise Express is just a short ride from Les Coches, connecting La Plagne with Les Arcs.

Les Coches itself is a well located village, 200 meters high from Montchavin. The village has everything you need during your vacation, including a good variety of shops and restaurants. A cable car connects the apartment to the heart of the village for free until midnight.

Great half-term ski holiday at Heather's apartment

We stayed for half-term, 2 Dads and 3 teenage kids so there was plenty of space for everyone. Our first impression was how clean the apartment was with beds all prepared and plenty of fluffy white towels available (very unusual for French rentals). The only items that weren't there that we could have done with were bathmats (which were subsequently delivered) and tea towels (fortunately we had one packed).

The 3 double bedrooms are of a good size, and my boys enjoyed the alcove room with 2 sets of rustic bunk beds. Being teenagers they did complain that there weren't any sockets in that area to keep their phones and ipads running, but probably a good thing !

The rest of the apartment is very well equipped with cupboards, large fridge freezer, convection hob etc.. Even a washing machine that we didn't use. Just be aware that there isn't any TV, just a TV and DVD player.

Our only real issue was that the small lane to the entrance to the apartment was very icy so we couldn't drive up it. The apartment is on the 5th floor at the far end to the entrance and unfortunately the week we were there (including when we arrived) the only lift was out of order more often than working. A minor irritation. The technician seemed to be there constantly and as soon as he had it working it would break down again.

The apartment is very convenient for skiing from the door - don't walk up to the bubble but ski down to main chair in Les Coches. Whist we were there the snow conditions were superb, but the weather was a real mixed bag - snow, wind, fog, rain(!), and some very nice sunny days. If planning to take the Vanoise Express over to Les Arcs be aware that there is a single chair to get our of Peisey which was a bit of a bottle neck. We loved the runs through the trees back down into Les Coches which were in perfect condition. One of my sons managed to find many different routes down off-piste between trees.

On the rainy day we took the bubble down to Montchavin for lunch which was well worth it as it's a lovely traditional farming village with good old farmyard smells and cows in basements below luxury ski chalets !

We ate out in Les Coches a few times, La Poya being our favourite for traditional Savoyarde cuisine. Note that we walked up and down to the centre which takes about 15 mins down and about 20 back up.

Overall a great stay and we would highly recommend Heather's apartment

Bel appartement aux pieds des pistes

Appartement spacieux et agréable à vivre. Terrasse exposée au soleil du matin au soir ce qui est très agréable.

Quelques soucis de ménage mais les propriétaires sont réactifs et une personne est intervenue très rapidement.

Nous étions 8 adultes et 3 enfants et l'appartement était assez spacieux pour nous tous.

Le retour en ski à l'appartement est un vrai plus.

Très agréable séjour

Nous étions à deux familles de quatre personnes. On y a passé un très bon séjour.

Très spacieux appartement, bien équipé et bien situé au pied des pistes et remontées mécaniques. À recommander !!!

Really nice appartment

Brilliant luxury apartment on the piste

Superb very large apartment. Two families stayed in real comfort. Nice touches like boot warmer and very well equipped kitchen. Couldn't be any closer to the piste so truly ski in- ski out. Host very communicative and helpful. All beds made up on arrival with towels provided - a nice touch. Very comfortable, clean and modern. Would definitely recommend.

Les Coches is located in the heart of Paradise ski area with over 420 km of marked trails accessible from the door of the apartment. Plagne Villages have a wide variety of shops, restaurants, post office, banks - basically everything you need for a stay during both the ski season in winter and summer. In the village, there is a good selection of traditional Savoyard restaurants, pizza restaurants and a bar. Ski rental and ski lessons are easily accessible from the apartment with the ski school meeting directly outside the apartment.
