About Stuart Morrow

Stuart and Doreen Morrow, from Glasgow, always enjoyed holidays in the East Neuk of Fife. They purchased the apartment in November 2013 with the plan to create a self catering holiday property that would provide a high standard of accommodation.

Stuart Morrow purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Stuart Morrow chose Cellardyke

Dove Street is unique. The properties were built for the fishing community in the early 1800's. In the winter when the boats could not go out, the people lived on pigeons, hence the name Dove Street. StuDo's Nest is in the heart of this history and Stuart and Doreen are proud to own and to offer their holiday home to guests who wish to explore the East Neuk of Fife.

What makes this apartment unique

The problem we have with guests is they won't want to leave and can't wait to come back. Not a problem really !!!

An ideal apartment as a base for a trip to the East Neuk of Fife. With plenty of space for up to four people, the apartment provides everything you could need. Very well equipped, comfortable and homely. I would certainly recommend and hope to return.

The flat is very comfortable, warm and well equipped with decent kitchen utensils and loads of towels. Strong wifi and Netflix was a bonus. The hosts had thought of everything. Great location for exploring the East Neuk on foot and by car. Highly recommend.

Comfortable home, well equipped kitchen. The host was easy to communicate with and welcomed us with wine, flowers and shortbread. The washer and drying tower were appreciated. The host provided lots of information about the area and features of the house. Comfortable bed!

Perfect base in a perfect place.

Four nights in Cellardyke sets you up for the winter. Narrow streets tame the traffic and you leave the buzz behind. The flat is within staggering distance of The Haven - nice food and splendid pints. After good nights sleep we marched through Pittenweem and on to St. Modens.

Soup and a sandwich in The Diving Gannet fuelled us for our return along this section of the coastal path - wildlife ranging from snails to seagulls in abundance; huge horizon and generous amounts of sun - sore feet, but well worth it.

Saturday was lobster day. We walked along the shore to Crail and bought our lobsters from the hut on the harbour. We had our cool bag prepared with an ice-pack for the walk home, bought sandwiches from the Co-op and devoured them on the harbour whilst watching a man paint the end of his house in the pouring rain.

The lobsters were to die for.

Sunday, we drove into St Andrews and enjoyed free parking till 1pm. The Butterfly House in the Botanic Gardens is well worth a visit. The Dolls House gives a good value lunch.

The Boathouse in Anstruther provided us with free sunshine in their beer garden before enjoying our farewell dinner in The Waterfront.

Fife- The East Neuk - Ye Cannae beat it!

Within the Cellardyke/Anstruther Burgh there is a 9 hole golf course, leisure centre at Waid Academy, sandy beaches as well as fascinating rock pools to investigate. A kiddies play park can be found 400 meters from StuDo's Nest and in Anstruther, Bankie Park has football and tennis facilities together with kids playground equipment. Anstruther has a large selection of shops at the harbour side, pubs and restaurants offering a wide range of food to suit all tastes. Why not enjoy a fish supper from the world famous Anster Chip Shop, eating in or as you take in the sights and sounds of the harbour.

Along the coast from Crail to Elie are the other East Neuk towns of Pittenween and St. Monans. Part of the Coastal Path runs from Crail to Elie and is a favourite with walkers. All these fishing villages are exciting to explore and offer up their own unique characteristics. As well as the Coastal Path a good bus service links all of these towns.
